I am looking at getting drag race coil overs for the front of my car. Which do i need to get?

The local shop said to get QA1's because they could be rebuilt when they start leaking.

Are the Hals and the Strange shocks rebuildable??

Also, what pound spring should I run?

Almost Full weight car...........Battery in the back.....ABS delete........soon to have K-member

I would suggest AFCO if you have the $$. QA1 for a good value. You can get the QA1 in a single or double adjustable setup. For springs I would say you are on the fringe of 275 or 300. It depends on how much weight you pull from the car.

I need to keep in mind that when I get a 408 it will be an iron block. I will get a k-member and a-arms in the early summer which will offset the weight of the iron block a little.

Then you are on the 300 - 325 fringe. Remember the A Arms are UNDER the springs. That weight savings does not count when looking at spring rates.

Use the search under the drag racing section... Strange is preffered over the Qa1's.

We have had great luck with the Strange units. One advantage the Strange units have over the QA1s is the Strange units use a standard 2 1/2" coilover spring which is readily available in multiple lengths and spring rates the QA1 units only have 3 options. Pricing on the double adjustable Strange coilovers is also better versus the QA1 pieces. We are a distributor for both lines so if you have any other comparison questions please feel free to ask.

Strange also! Strange uses a larger shaft diameter than QA-1.

personally i like the qa1's but stange are also good. as steve stated though if you have the money go with afcos.
