Question Passenger side ALOT lower than driver

I have 112k on my TA and am getting ready to install Koni 4/4s and Strano springs on her as soon as they come in. I noticed recently that the driver side is sitting higher than the passenger side. I can get 4 fingers above the driver side rear tire and still have a lit bit more room, while on the passenger it is barely three fingers. I had it looked at and the mechanic told me that it is probably just a weak front spring (passenger side, of course) and that since the body is so rigid from the SFCs and just the nature of the beast, that that is what is causing it. The front does it too, but not as predominant. Does this sound right or COULD THERE BE MORE WRONG WITH IT?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Seems you got a case of the gangsta lean. Im sure i have that too. Supposedly the drivers side is suppost to sit higher than the passengers side when there is no one in the car and then level out once the driver gets in. But other than that theory i dont know.

My suggestion is to get a measuring tape and get an exact measurement from the top of the fender to the ground.

My car currently sits at:

LF- 28" RF- 27.75"

LR- 28.5" RR- 28.25"

Although there is no telling how level the ground is in my garage where the measurements were taken, it will give you a number that you can see how your car is sitting.

(1) Check to see if the end of the pigtail on both springs is pointing back the same.

(2) You can also try disconecting the rear swaybar endlinks to see if you have a bent swaybar.
(3) upper spring seat might be collapsed.
(4) spring might be bent.

If you have not noticed already, the right rear lower spring seat is at an angle, not level like the D.S.R. spring seat.

Mine sits like that, between 3/4 and 1 inch difference. At first I was worried that it was due to some damage to the car but I found that stock these cars tend to sit like that... seems bizarre to me but whatever.

Well I get my Strano springs on Tuesday (according to FedEx) and then on Wednesday I will get my front Koni's put on (finally) and the springs on all four corners. I will let you all know how it works out.

Also since my springs come in tomorrow, I took measurements today. Currently I have stock springs all the way around, DeCarbons (CRAP) up front, and Koni's (4th Gen) in the rear. However, I noticed the crappy "slant" before the rear shock swap:

DriverFront: 27 1/8" PassengerFront: 26 1/2"
DriverRear: 28" PassengerRear: 26 7/8"

Car was level after spring/shock combo. Now a new problem: my swaybar was installed upside down so I had to buy new endlinks because the stock ones were trashed. How can I tell if my swaybar is bent? Because when I corrected the swaybar and put new endlinks on, I can notice a difference in height again.

i guess you could put a level across the ends of the sway bars while its laying on the ground to see if it leans to one side or another.

the lean is a fairly common problem, especially on a lowered car. no one really knows what causes it, but a slightly curved sway bar could be the culprit. since the only time the suspension is in use is when someone is in the car and 90% of fourth gens are driven solo the car adjusts itself.

i guess the better question is if you want the car to look like it leans to the left when your in it, or if you want it to look higher on the left when your not. me personally i would rather have it look right when im in it, i could care less about it sitting higher when im not

My car was higher on the drivers side with stock springs and after I installed a set of BMR springs and KYB shocks it is still the same about a finger width difference.
