Default Lowering distance..

when you guys got springs and whatever else what size drop did you go and what do you think the safest drop is without the car being slammed. I kinda want the car to be sitting like a half inch off the tires so what size drop should i go with?

The lower you go, the closer you are to hitting the ground. The less springrate you have, the faster you will hit the ground.

There's really no defined threshold point. You can bottom the car out at stock height depending on what you drive over.

A half inch off the tires? That is really low...that's like Eibach Sportline low. I would go no more than 1-1.25"...Strano's springs drop 1.2", and is all I'd personally recommend for dropping a car to a good ride height that improves handling and looks, but keeps you from riding the bump stops all the damn time, especially in the back.

if you have a half an inch off the tires, that means when you hit a rock your tire is going to rub the lip of the body. the strano 1.2" springs is what you want. you can find pictures of all the springs for you to decide what lowering amount you want.

Nope...you worded that just fine. I don't think you realize just how close that is to bottoming out the stock bump stops.

I'm fully aware about how close i will be to bottoming out, but if a 1.2'' drop will do it then sounds like thats what i need to get.

If you want it low pick up some Eibach sportlines but it won't be 1/2" gap gap you are looking for unless you have a heavy weight car. There is another option just as long as you are aware there will be pretty much no suspension travel sitting that low. If you want 1/2" gap you will have to go to Ground control and mod the rear perches to get it that low in the rear or Air ride or other coilover suspension.
