True, but you're not typically mowing your lawn at 10:00 PM.

I live in a town home community and my neighbors complain all the time not really about noise though since I try not to get home lat or leave really early that often. They complain all the time about me having 4 cars and that i can park only one in front of my place. The rest need to be out by the mailbox even had the HOA tell me that. I do it for a few weeks and notice nobody even parks. the HOA recently said something again to me and I told them I will park my cars in front of my place until they replace the fake cameras since my Honda was stolen from in front of my place and that i have a private surveillance system so my cars stay were there at and the HOA does not bother me anymore.

I would say try and work something out with the neighbors that you will try not to come home late or leave really early and just idle in the neighborhood.

well, I guess the cops could mess with you a little since dumped exhaust on your car

But I guess technically you could call bullets a muffler LOL

I say stick it out, see if they mean business....sounds like just a grumpy old HOA person, we have them everywhere. I got a letter when I left a stack of 12 bricks by my garage in a neat stack.

I have never personally had a problem were I live, then again I live in an apartment..

I back my TA in to the covered parking everytime I park. (cammed GMMG CB eith E-Cutout) I have never had any complaints. Well one, where I park is right outside a guys bedroom. Whn I bought the V and started driving it daily instead of the TA he complained about having to set his alarm clock again. LOL was used to my car starting up at 625am to wake him up for the last yr or so LOL

I would first off check the regs in the HOA and if nothing in them invite all my friends with loud *** cars over for a weekend BBQ LOL

What part of Tomball do you live in? I never had any issues from the neighbors but on the other hand an act of kindness goes a long way. In my last house (I sold) in Atascocita (brand new upper middle class) I too was the only gear head and the youngest (owner) on the block. Not only did I drive my car around with open headers (before I could afford an exhaust) b/c of house payment for a bit but I would park my semi tractor (not trailer) in my driveway which was a huge no-no. My secret was I was always polite, kept my front landscape immaculate, always socialised with the neighbors and would always smile and wave. I never heard a peep or had a nasty gram sent to me. In your case I would not change my car but maybe driving habits and an apology to this cun*. I know, I know you're not wrong but sometimes just killing people with kindness will cure all. just tell her I'm so sorry I wasn't aware of any of this but I'll do my best to address the issue at hand thanks for pointing this out to me. Be sure to leave her your # too that always helps. Btw what does she drive a hybrid?

Here's the kicker to this entire thread I COMPLETELY forgot to mention.....her husband has a, as she put it....hot rod, in the garage. It's a mustang, he tried starting it up last weekend and it sounded like an old farm tractor and wouldn't ever start up. Douchebag.

On a side note, I am the youngest on the block and the only gear head.....two strikes against me when it comes to housewives that don't have a goddamn thing to do besides look for something else to bitch about.

When we first moved into our house last year, the neighbors were sceptical about my cobra(full length hedders, gutted cat x-pipe, magnaflow cat-back) PLUS, my brother comes over all the time in his built motor Lightning (full exhaust, no cats, big cams, JDM silver bullet cat-back). But i've been very respectful of them, and do as many things for all of my neighbors that i can. Such as, helping my single, retired grandma next door neighbor, with her coy pond. BTW--She is the neighborhood busy body. Plus, i caught a teenage prowler in my other next door neighbors driveway when i came home from work at 2a.m. After a talk with him in the middle of the street with my S & W .357 and calling the cops and having him picked up, i've now been labeled as the "block protector" LoL I could do burnouts in my driveway and all the retired neighbors would come out and take pics, sell lemonaide, and applaude, telling me how nice my car sounds. HaHa. But, i still don't take advantage of their hospitality. Just be nice, and sooner or later your neighborhood busy body will need some help or something, help her out, and she will think of you in a different light. Cooler heads prevail.

I agree man, I am cool headed anyways. Not one to start any trouble. I think I am going to put on cats hopefully very soon and go have a chat with her....maybe she will take her husband off the leash and let him join the conversation too.

IMO, the best advice on here is to put the cats on and a cat-back and have an electric cut out. Problem solved. Your car is emissions legal, it's quieter, which all of the neighbors will probably appreciate and you won't lose any performance of the car when the cut out is open.

when I lived with my mother, her elderly neighbors [mid-late 60s] called the cops on me for my car...

the cop came to the house, laughed, complimented my car and went on his way.

I bought a house back in 2007 in a quiet neighborhood. My neighbor at the corner has a 700+ HP Dodge cummins. My neighbors 3 houses down have 2 SN95 bodystyle cobras, the convertible is hers and the hardtop is his. The guy next door to them has a C5 Z06. And then there's a kid in my neighborhood that just bought a loud *** LT1 who revs up in front of my house whenever he drives by.

As a homeowner, it doesn't bother me. In fact, I welcome it. But that's only because I've been around fast things most of my life.

Cops can't really do anything, unless they bust out a decibel meter... shes just being a super €unt. If I were you, just keep on doing what you're doing. There's no HOA where I live, so I don't know what they can/can't do.

Keep us posted.
