Default 60-130 and 1/4 Mile Event - November 21, 2009

OK, the temps should be nice and cool for our November 60-130/private 1/4 mile track rental... Like the September event, we will have the track to ourselves to 60-130 AND to run unlimited 1/4 mile passes. The track was not prepped well in September but John (owner of the track) has given us his support for a full trakc prep for our event in November. Details below:

When: Saturday November 21, 2009

Where: Lonestar Motorsports Park (Sealy, TX)

Time: Gates open at 2:30 pm and track is hot from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Cost: spectators are $15 and racers are $50 (same as always)

Caravan Info: meet at Frankenstein's Bar/Grill (just south of I-10 off of Mason Rd.) at 12:30 pm and grab a bite to eat prior to heading out to Lonestar. We will leave promptly at 1:45 pm to Lonestar.

The track will re-open at 7:00 pm and will be open to all 60-130 participants to drag race until midnight (just in case you don't get enough 1/4 and 60-130 racing before then!!!!)

OK, the official long update...

The 60-130 event will be on Sunday 11/22. Gates will open at 12:30 pm and the track will go hot at 1:00 pm. We will run 1/4 mile and 60-130 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The track would NOT be ready tomorrow early afternoon due to the extreme amount of rain we got today. However, John Hennessey has a film crew and a media company at the track on Sunday video taping several Hennessey cars on the drag strip for a promo video. One of those cars running will be their 1,500 HP TT comp coupe Viper. Needless to say, they are working to get the track to hold that power, coupled with the cooler weather and low humidity I have a feeling this will be YOUR best chance to get a great time.

Friday night Lonestar remains open for their standard 1/4 mile test-n-tune...that means there will be fresh rubber from the night before, plus a major prep for their Sunday video taping, plus cooler temps, plus low humidity...if there are ever going to be better conditions, I can't think of how. See you guys at Lonestar at 12:30 pm on Sunday!

The record, I believe was set by a twin turbo Lambo at 3.53.

He ran to run previous to this one that showed 3.5 on the box, which could be anywhere from 3.46 to 3.55, the boxes did not write the data. On the third run, the car had not completely cooled down. There is more left in the car. I look for the record to go down at the next event in Jan.
