dont forget intake gaskets....and it will take him over a year to finish. If he does finish. and dont forget going to his house countless times, staying for hours on end, just to have absolutly nothing done on your car.

This is not only from personal experince but numerous friends.

yeah I bet it is! I called him once about 3 years ago interested in getting a ported throttle body and he was definitely a character on the phone; real nice guy though. He told me he also did tuning then and was telling me all sorts of stories of local guy's cars. He wanted me to drive over to him, I think he's in/near Dallas right?, and said he'd tune my car in 1 or 2 days & I could stay the night in his guest room.
That was just a little too uncomfortable for me!

We would be glad to tune your car. Give me a call so I can answer any questions you may have, or set up an appointment for you.

He took care of me with the purchase of his ported and polished S3
Great guy, loves to share track stories and a character!
I am not surprised at the invitation to stay at his place.
All in all, an experience to say the least.

These threads show up once a day asking about non-sponsored tuners. I do know there are some good tuners that are not sponsors on the forum, but at the end of the day I'd go with a sponsor on here that is very well known in your area. If you were from Houston you have a million different options to go with and they all do quality work. Dallas also has a good amount of shops that do really good work.

My point really is don't try to pinch pennies on a tune. Make sure you find someone you feel comfortable with making changes to your car. A bad tune can be a cause for certain disaster. Call your local sponsors, such as SNL (they are the first to post in here, I have never had any dealings with them) and they should be able to help you out.

There are sponsors on this board in DFW who tune and shouldnt even charge for the work they do. The best tuners in this area are not paid sponsors on tech(btw in not talking about Shaner being one of the best tuners).
I do understand where you are coming from though.
