and mack brown would NEVER do that? you know this how? are you his dad? his girlfriend? what? saban was trying to chew clock and richardson busted a big run first play. anyone who gets that close to scoring that fast, is going to let his kid take it in.

And what about McFAILroy, the tough guy who's never lost a game in a high school or college, who completed only 6 passes against the Texas D. Next to Ingram, this guy was made out to be the redeeming savior of the bama offense. Talk about getting shut the hell down.

Man I wouldn't wish that stress on my own worst enemy. Gilbert stood strong in the midst of being inexperienced and facing one of the greatest, most physical D's in the country. So critics should cut him some slack.

texas fans sure are giving a lot of the credit for that comeback to garrett gilbert, but if you go back and watch the plays, jordan shipley benefited from blown coverages on at least one of the 2 touchdown passes. its pretty easy to thrown to a wide open shipley going down the field.
without shipley, texas would have been NO WHERE this year. give that guy the credit, not so much gilbert.
and alabama had a prolific rush defense, not a pass defense. of course texas was going to score on some passing plays against them. the SEC is all about Rush defense and running the ball. Judging by the past 4 champions being from there, I'd rather have that then a QB throwing the ball well.

Us Texas fans are giving Gilbert credit cause He has had a total of 27 Pass attempts all year, and for him to be thrown into the biggest game in College Football that soon and cold he stood well... as far as the Rush Defense...yeah Bama put up a showing with their Rush defense, but they came into that game having the #1 Pass Defense in the Nation..

GG also had Malcolm Williams drop 4 passes, one being a TD, the RB bobble a pass that was an INT for a TD.
Bama has a top 10 pass defense. Please act like you follow football.

Several Texas receivers had drops in that game, including Shipley. Williams dropped a well thrown pass into the endzone from Gilbert. Some of his struggles early on were because of our drops. The fact that he overcame all of that and threw two td's and had a 2-pt conversion against the "best defense" in the nation speaks volumes of what he is capable of. Shipley's first td wasn't on a blown coverage btw, unless you consider every completed pass the product of blown coverages...

and it turns out colt wasn't the only hurt QB in the game. Mcelroy was playing with two cracked ribs. they numbed him up before the game, but he was already feeling it by halftime. said he hadn't thrown a pass in at least a week before the game. there's a big "if only" for the bama side.

that TD that shipley beat arenas was blown coverage. arenas is an awesome zone db, but they do not leave him in man coverage, especially against another teams #1 receiver. gilbert is gonna be a beast, as long as the rest of those WRs can learn to catch.

Blown coverage is not the same as biting on a double move. Please follow the game more closely.

Greg is an average QB, he looked as good as any average QB does when they face us. He hurt his ribs 5-6 weeks before the game. He was fine. Brady doesn't make excuses with 3 broken ribs and he gets hit a lot harder.

boy, you are about as condescending as they come. you do know that you dont know everything there is to know about football, right? he reaggravated the injury in practice. he was so bad he couldnt throw the ball the entire week before the game. he was in aggonizing pain after the shot wore off before half time. do you understand all of that? all of a sudden that texas D looks even less magnificent. they proved they cant stop the run, and they can pass rush a QB that was pulling up lame. WOW.
and arenas got beat because of blown coverage. i know you think texas is the greatest thing since disco, but they had help on that TD pass.woodall or barron were supposed to be there to help him. he has no business being in man coverage against a #1 receiver, and saban doesnt set him up to be. ever. and the fact that bama was lining 8 people up in the box to blitz and contain the run, pretty much set gilbert up to throw some good *****, if he had it in him. i cant wait until bama repeats next year, and texas is a 3 loss team, so we can forget about this year. its an awesome crutch texas fans have, this excuse that colt got hurt. better luck next year rebuilding your team.

Unlike Alabama, we have 3 lock-down corners that shut down your **** talking receiver.
Jones before the game was saying how we would have to double him every play. Instead we put Aaron Williams on him and left them on an island and Jones had one catch. All the with out the blatant pass interference that that Alabama defenders were so good at.

That's what the Tech fans said about Potts..pretty sure he spent alot of time on his back too....Bottom line is, The Texas front puts pressure on any QB...as far as Bama repeating? keep dreaming in wonderland..and yes I will say it again, Old Greg would have just as much time on his back if he wasn't "hurting" and Texas rebuilding??? you do realize Mack Brown is prolly one of if not the best at recruiting talent and hasn't had a problem "plugging holes" since He's been at Texas.... I'm sorry it took your Bama boys 17 years to win their next title..
