Theres going to be a 10-15% drop from the flywheel to the wheels.... and there a lot lighter than the competing camaro and challenger. With the 4.6 they were keeping up on the road courses and such.

Its up there in numbers with the two as well. Fords been getting there **** together finally

Its here, they just havent perfected it yet.
convertible will come out first and then the Z/28 will follow.
either way Chevrolet needs to give ford a head start so Chevy can outsell them again

They'll be nice, but the new mustang just doesn't do it for me. Something about all the plastic on the bottom of the car.

I'd rather make a pro runner out of my truck, and mod the SS.

It's just I've bought a number of new cars and each time I bit the bullet when got rid of them.

Personally if I were to get a mustang it would be an 03-04 cobra or somthing newer but rare, like a cobra R. There is just to many damn mustangs.

Camaro wise, I really dig the twin turbo direct injection 6 that Jay Lenno was driving around. Can't wait to see a d/injection 8 in something other than a diesel.

I heard the new '11 v6 mustang was tested and ran a 13.7... I cant imagine what the GT's capable of.

GTs have run 12.8-13.0@110MPH out of the box, you can get different gears, both those had the optional 3.73s, you can get 3.55s also. You also have shorty headers out of the factory already on the cars. Nice cars, I don't like the rear end (looks) but other wise I like them a lot. A plus is Ford dealers honor supplier pricing programs on it. The Camaros sell so well, the Chevy dealers dgaf and expect you to pay MSRP. Dollar for dollar, performance wise, a used C6 can't be beat though. GM whored out so many incentives on them, so long as you can filter out the ***** who want $35K for their 2005 auto, you can find deals on them. Ford hasn't given two ***** about the GT since the fox body ended, they left them under powered because they either sold well or had no direct competition. Now they are under fire on both ends, so Ford had to step their game up. Ford's done well with the 03/04 Cobra program and does great with the GT500. I think if you need 4 seats, a used GT500 is the ticket.

Sadly for us mustang guys the domination they had in sales left us with underperforming vehicles. Ford never saw any reason to top gm since they weren't any threat to them financially.

However, now the 5th gen arrives and looks pretty badass yet also produces a good amount of hp. Ford finally took a hit in market share and is obviously looking to regain the advantage. Either way, its good for all of us.

Agreed, the 5th gen has a bigger appeal, the 4th gens were kind of goofy with miles of dash, sitting on the floor kinda feel, a huge hump in the passenger foot well compartment and all the while these huge blind spots for pillars. To a lot of us, they performed awesome and looked great, so those flaws were over looked.

This 5th gens interior is just laid out better and "works," better. Ford had the Mustang right minus shifter placement for years. Thats what sells your majoirty of cars though, you spend most the time inside the car, so that has to work well for the driver and passengers. It took GM a while to figure it out. What I find really cool is though, the 5th gen has apeal to people that normally would never buy a Camaro or performance vehicle. But they like the way it looks, the cars practical as a two door can be, plenty of power from the V6.

Like Flat says in the picture, the Z/28 will be out in the very near future. I talked to my ZR1 salesman last week and he was given his allocation he can order on them when ordering starts, and I should be 1st in line from him.

As far as the 2011 Rustang, I am waiting for the new GT500 myself with the new aluminum block before I purchase 1. And then it is straight to LMR for a Kenne Bell

Yea I'm impressed with the v6 and v8. Nowadays v6's are just as quick as some v8's.

Its going to be competition that's for sure, but that is what makes it fun. Its good for auto makers to have a little push from competitors.
