OK body shop guys, help me,is it totalled?
My daughter got hit broad side and after a week, we just now was able to get a hold of the insurance company and file a claim. I just want to know if the car is totalled. She's already looking for a replacement, but her car was very clean inside and out so it's been hard to find a comparable replacement based on condition. She is fine aside from a few scratches, bruises and a sore neck. She is just wanting another clean F-Body.
When she was hit, she spun around a few times and slammed into a curb.
There is only one good wheel left, both airbags deployed and shattered the windsheild, the rearend is shifted over and at least one axle is bent. You can see the majority of the body damage in the pics. It is a 2000 Z-28 A4 with leather, t-tops, and power everything. It has right at 120K mile on it and runs great.
So what do ya'll think? Totalled or repairable as an insurance adjuster?

guesstimation.... 3 wheels $350, 3 tires $300, door $500, quarter panel $300, window $200, LCA's $150(if they just bent is why its moved over), rear end work including new axle if just the one $500, body work and paint $1500ish??, airbags.... dash... no idea. if it isnt totaled you can have my driver airbag if they are the same. save a little bit of money... airbag stuff from what i hear is pretty dang expensive to replace tho... so it may end up being gone glad she atleast reacted quick enough to swerve and not make it a front collision, could have been worse for sally and her!... glad shes doing good! but James you should buy her an SS! make it Day Ja Vu's SS Camaro racing family lol keep us all updated on how everything turns out.

James its definately repairable, but value wise the insurance co. is probably going to total it. You may want to find out what they are offering and see what it will cost to buy it back and see if you can get it repaired with in a reasonable amount of what you have left if you are trying to keep the car if not let it go and pick up another decent used car if that is what your daughter wants. Give Tim a call at Lane's Hi-Tech he may be able to help you achive what you want etc...

i would say it's a total.the parts for these cars have gone up it seems like and harder to find,if it was me i'd fix it and save it,but meanwhile get her another to drive. imo

Thanks guys, I appreciate the opinions. I feel the same way, but wasn't really sure. I would be afraid the T-tops would leak and have wind noise if it were repaired. I'd rather pick up another clean F-body and be done with it.
Jeff- I'll give Tim a call and see what he can do if we get stuck with it.

That is totalled for sure. The rear 1/4 needs to be replaced, and they are welded in on these cars. Mine was dented a little, but I made the insurance replace it. I think it was 1300 in LABOR to replace the 1/4. Plus the fact that it was an 800 panel. It would be close if the air bags hadn't popped, but since they have it is for sure totalled.

in my opinion it's totaled, and to be honest im not sure if i would want to fix it anyways, unfortunetly it will NEVER be the same, like you stated above bout wind noice and leaks, or who knows what else, glad to hear your daughter is ok and only got minor scrapes and bruises. if they end up totaling it out, i need those lug nut caps for my sisters car! those things fall off left and right!
