Default 77 c10 5.3l/4l60e swap

I am building this for a friend of mine and wanted to share the build. Truck originally had a tired old 350/350. It won't be a show truck as you can see, it is going to be a daily work horse. The engine my friend chose was a 2003 5.3L/4L60E out of a 2003 Tahoe 2WD. I will be using the stock harness and computer. I have stripped the harness of all emissions, a/c etc. I will also be using the stock under hood fuse block and keeping the drive by wire setup. Here are the pics..

The 77 C10

The engine and trans

The wiring removed.. lots of it!

Wiring harness cleaned up

The fuse block

Engine bay- Believe it or not it is clean. It was 100x worse, a little purple power and pressure washer got it cleaned up.

Engine going in..

Engine sittin pretty..

This is where I am at right now, I will tackle the rest tomorrow. I will keep updating as I get further..

I should have some tomorrow. I worked on the fuel system today and had to leave to help my brother power wash his patio and gazebo for a going away party for a friend of ours. I'll update tomorrow with more progress and pics.

Here is an update, I have been real busy so little has gotten done. Here are some more pics..
Here is a pic of the wiring getting installed

Here is the battery relocated on the driver side and the pcm under the battery

more misc pics..

I still need to do the fuel system and the pedal assembly. I sent the pcm off yesterday to Brendan @ lt1swap.com to get flashed. Hopefully I will get it back by thursday and see what this thing does.

Does painless sell a wiring harness for these types of conversions? I've been considering getting a 69-79 body style and doing a late model drivetrain in it.

I am sure they do, but a little patience and time and you can modify your own harness. It's not that difficult, just time consuming.

Send me your number through pm. Everyone local wanted $250 just to flash it Brendan @lt1swap.com charges $75 and that includes return shipping. I don't think anyone local can beat that.

Truck is now complete, Owner has picked it up and cruising it around now. The drive by wire is awesome and very sensitive. Truck pulls hard and shifts great.
Here is a video of the first start before the exhaust was installed.

Here are pics of the finished product...

It was a fun 2 weeks and all worth it...

I am actually about to part out my camaro and start a build thread on a 85c10 swb. I will be using a forged 347/t56/12bolt moser combo. I am thinking of ditching the fast 92/92 and go forced induction with a carb intake and elbow. I have a trex cam in it right now so that will need to be swapped out. I will start a for sale thread and a build thread here shortly.

Stock 02 tahoe fuel pump. I fabricated a bracket to hold it with the factory sump of the 77c10, worked perfect
