What is your problem? I hate seeing your name and posts in this thread. How many classic cars have you restored? Please show us Mr Restoration God.

Not cranky at all, just hate seeing you rag on the kid and giving him a hard time. It gets old. He needs encouragement not you cutting him down after every little thing he does. I give him props for working on a cool car and having a vision.

It doesn't bother me, people give me **** all the time. I figured you guys would figure out I had the paint covered alread lol.

I have plenty of money to fix this car but my budget is set at $5k. Those wheels are $2300 but they are going to take 4-6 weeks to be built. I still have plenty of room to play with for cash. I would wait until it's painted but I want the wheels in before school starts. There isn't really much the car needs anyways.

I admire you for doing so much on your own, but that 5k budget will not get you a protouring car. $2300 for wheels which does not include tires. It takes alot more than just wheels to make a protouring car. In all honesty if you were to sell it with just a investment of 5k I wouldn't expect to 32k. There are alot of rotissisory cars not bringing that coin. I understand we build cars because we love the hobby but when it comes to flipping them and expecting a sizable return for non fully restored car its not gonna happen. Fnding cars like these are becoming harder and harder especially "clean" ones. I commend you on your willingness to take on this project, I would seriously consider replacing those quarters instead of putting a bandaid on it.

I guess you could say more of a restomod. The more I thought about it, I am never going to take this car around a road course so there is no point. $5k was just my immediate budget, I will make another $2-3k by the time school starts. I have more cash if it really comes down to it but I want to save it for college.

Here is my list so far.
Hood, spoiler, front spoiler, paint $1000.
Interior $300, going to custom make a console
Wheels/tires $3000

For that I would have a sick looking car that will perform nicely, but it's no where near show stopper fast. I really don't race or road course so that's fine with me. If I want to go fast I will hop in the T/A.

And Cam72maro where did you get your HIDs?

Default camaro

I don't know what interior pieces you need but I have some if you need them. I have a bunch of stuff from building my car leftover. For that 6 speed you are going to have to make a console. I would like to see it someday.

I just need armrests, headliner, bows, clips and a dash bezel. I think that's it for the inside.

Sounds good, you gonna be at the Home Depot car show tomorrow? Can pick it up there.

Anyways I finished welding the left quarter today and skimmed it with bondo/fiberglass. Also filled that one hole on the roof and some pin holes at the bottom where the door and quarter meet. Tomorrow I will finish that and smooth the fender and door. Couple small dents I didn't see before and some waves. Maybe I will start on the right side of the car too.

Also anyone know where I can get some HID's?

Mine are not hid's, they are the stock lights. Just photoshopped to make it look like they are hid's. If you find some let me know, I would be interested in them as well. That is a good price from Joe for that spoiler. I paid like 140 bucks iirc from year one years ago.

Probably not going to the car show, PM me your phone number and I will pick it up from you tomorrow.

Trans Am is getting there, by next week it should be hopefully painted.

Camaro is getting there also. Body should be done next week and maybe painted the week after. I dug out all the bondo on the sail panel and redid it. Surprisingly there really isn't that much bondo on the car.

Thanks for the parts guys and it was nice meeting both of y'all. Now I can finally start putting my trans am back together. The headlight cover is coming in the mail, it is aftermarket so hopefully it fits.

Got the spoiler on today, looks great!! The bodywork should be done Wednesday, just paying my friend so it will be done before boss gets back.

The Trans Am bumper is glued up and just needs to be sanded, I will put that and the fender on tomorrow. Finally I can start driving the damn thing and perfect timing too because the Camaro will be in bare metal tomorrow.

Also just put in the order for my wheels, can't wait! 18's all around. God I hope I don't regret not going with 17's in the front..
