70 Camaro Build

Don't know what all you are paying for but I would be telling them to do it right!!!! The door molding and T/A lettering on the door was not removed before painting (lazy). On the camaro the door handles, locks, chrome trim around door glass were all left on as they were "striping it". Like I said I don't know what you are paying for but those are for sure short cut's
Here are a couple my brother is doing right now. You should blow them completely apart and then put them back together. The T/A was stripped down to a bare shell with NOTHING on it.

I pass that 70 Chevelle SS everyday for sale at the Car Spot down the street from the body shop. The other day I saw it at the body shop. Kid, what is the story, True SS or not and is a 396 or a 454 in it? I always want to stop, but I tell myself what do I need another car for unless that Chevelle is a factory LS6 car.

I thought they were just painting the fender and bumper so I didn't take the molding off the T/A but they had to blend a little bit of the door and clear it.
I will pull all the chrome **** and everything else off and clean the edges before they paint the Camaro. I don't have time to strip the whole car down or a place to put it and even if I did I would probably never get it back together, that's why I chose not to do the LS1 swap. I only paid him $500 so I didn't expect him to do it. It's going a daily driver so it's not going to be a big deal. I think am going to leave the door handles on because they look cool black, that's how I had them on the 80 T/A.. I'll pull the locks out though and paint them separately.
When ex-SS-ves car and my car is done we can put them side by side and do a comparison lol..
The Chevelle is a numbers matching 396 SS 4 speed, car is perfect with A/C and other goodies. I don't know why it's at our shop. He wants $50k for it but he will take $30k haha. I think $25k would be a good price for it, I am sure he will negotiate even past that. They are kinda silly with their pricing, I guess you have see that blue 06 GTO out front of there right? I was going to buy it until they told me $27k, I didn't even know what to say to him after that. That thing has been sitting there 3 years and now I know why.
But dude I want to check out your garage, looks like you have a nice collection lol..

The Trans Am was buffed and waxed today and it looks farking amazing. The Camaro is at the transmission shop and should be done pretty quick.

well seeing as how mine was a complete frame off resto and not just an exterior paint job and joe's will be too, i kinda doubt it. but i mean the paint on my car is 5 years old so i guess anything is possible. all be it that car hasn't seen a single wet road since it's been restored. nor has it spent a single full day outside of the garage since it's been restored.

Lol I know we are all just screwing with each other. It's just a summer project to keep me busy, it would be kinda stupid to put $8,000 into paint and body just to have someone key it at school or me wreck it since I have horrible luck. I almost wrecked the T/A again today when some lady pulled out and blocked the road. I just closed my eyes and pressed the pedal to the floor since there was no where I could go.
Anyone know what would happen if I did wreck the Camaro and it wasn't my fault? Would I just be out $10,000? I swear to God if that happens I will burn someones house down.
But yeah I will just getting it looking nice, drive it until I get tired of it and make a couple bucks off of it. It's gonna be hard to let this one go, I love driving this car.
Here are some pics of a Camaro we did today, this is pretty much what it's going to look like. Mine will look a little better though since it will put a few more coats down, one of the perks of working there.

I talked to the transmission guy today and he said he has no clue how the car even drove. He pulled the pan and there were big chunks of metal everywhere, the pop I heard was one of the gears or something exploding and he said it was nasty inside. So I guess another $500 for a complete rebuild will be added to the list.

I have liability, I am just afraid someone is going to rear end me or something and they will give me $1200 for the car. Can you drive every day with Hagerty? I thought with most of those things it's limited.

but either way if you are gonna drive it and you give more than 2 ***** about the car, then put full coverage on it. ive never owned a car that didn't. just saying.

I'm gonna switch off like every day or whatever has gas in it. What sucked about having the Chevelle, SS and T/A is there was that one day were they were all empty lol. I'll probably drive the Camaro more because I like the auto and Trans Am might be torn down pretty soon for a while so I can put a cam or maybe a Procharger in, had my eye on that one in the sale section and also that STS rear mount. When the Camaro is painted I will see what kinda play money I have left.

The transmission guy said I needed a new converter so I went with a stock one, y'all think there will be a big difference between a 2800? He said I might as well since I am not going to drag race it. The converter was junk and that's what blew the trans. He also said the fluid looked like silver spray paint and that there was no way in hell this thing was ever rebuilt in recent years. There was a mild shift kit and that was it.
So it's gonna be like $650 now because I need a converter.
