Cheapest place I found mine was at a gun show in Houston. I got the DPMS and have put probably 500 rounds through it. Never has it jammed and shoots very accurate. If I was to do it all over again I would pick the same gun.

i personally like bushmaster they're really well built, mines never jammed either but i clean it very well when im done shooting it. also you should probably look into getting some kind of sight, the iron ones are ok but doesn't compare to a scope or EOtech hallographic laser sight. with my EOtech w/no magnification at 50 yrds. I can consistently make about a 4inch grouping in the middle of the target without any strays so id say it's pretty damn accurate.

It's like with just about anything u buy. U get why u pay for.
Me personally I like bushmaster also. I do like the 7.62 ar also. Just cause the bigger round. But that's just me. It is heavier but I'm not a little guy. Just my .02

I love my Del-Ton rifle that I built. Del-Ton has been proven time and again to be up to snuff with the larger brands and they don't cost nearly as much. I built a 16" M4gery from their rifle kit and a Rock River Arms lower for $630. My dad is a Colt man, loves his 20" rifle and the decked out DPMS Panther he purchased along with his Colt. After shooting mine though, he was really impressed with Del-Ton and asks me to take it with us when we go shooting together.

I did some reading and thinking before I bought mine and decided to go with the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 (AR-15). I haven't fired mine but I have a friend of my dads who has several and I really like them. So does my dads friend and he's a big gun enthusiast. It's a great rifle and best of all it's American Made. I'm glad my money stayed here. I'd consider selling it if you were interested, totally up to you though. Good luck and I hope you find the right one for you.

Ok...dum
Guns are just like cars, if your a chevy man, chevy is the best thing since sliced bread. If your a ford man, ford is the best thing since peanut and jelly.... See what I'm getting at?
There is only about 3-5 big machine shops that mass produce the receivers and then sell them to Rock River, Bushmasters, Colt, DPMS etc etc etc etc..... Don't believe me? Look on your upper for a small horse shoe, ohm symbol, hourglass etc....
As far as building a gun, you get what you want and not alot of bullshit that you will end up replacing. It's super easy to build an AR...dum
If you want to buy one, go to a gun show and look around. Shop around, there is always a smoking hot deal...Hold a few, play with a few and ask questions. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.dum
I would stick with an .223 (5.56) cartridge. It's cheaper to shoot, will take down small game and won't punish your shoulder.dum
Www.ar15.com dumlook around on there....there is a ton of great info, pics etc on there
I wouldn't tell a damn person that. On pretty much any well name brand AR in .223 you should be able to do 1.5 groupes @ 100 yards on open sights.dum

i forgot everyones a professional gun handler on ls1 tech, 100 yds. 1.5 inch grouping with open sights..... and to what i said earlier out of 100 rounds the furthest 2 apart was a little under 4 inches and they were all dead center and ive only shot the gun 4 times since i just bought it a few weeks ago fwiw. All i was pointing out is that they are very accurate, consistent guns unlike some others (ak-47).

No... Not a gun handler, It's not hard at all to group 1.5 @ 100yds....
100yds ain't ****
And an ak47 isn't reliable? Wow...ok... It's more like on ls1tech everyone is a armory expert

so your saying from 100yds you can group 100 rounds in the size of a half dollar. If you believe that and ak-47 is as reliable or as accurate as an ar-15 thats answers everything i needed to know about you.

Ok, you really can't be serious. The Ak-47 is probably the most resilient weapon around. There is a reason that the weapon is so revered. Not only is it cheap to buy (relatively), you don't really need to do any maintenance on it to keep it working. Just load it and shoot. Is it as accurate as an AR-15 / M16 / M4? Probably not, but that's not what the AK was designed to do. It was designed to sling lead and lots of it. I'd say that it's still a deadly accurate weapon, just ask any member of our armed services if the AK is an accurate or reliable weapon. To say otherwise would probably get you a kind of reaction.

ak's are GARBAGE anyone that knows about guns will tell you, and ive seen them in action, can you say cartridge jam. have you ever seen them torture test one they hang up like crazy after a few hundred rounds. ive seen them fire thousands of rounds through an ar-15 with no jams they even put dirt in the upper receiver NO JAMS. are you really trying to compare an ar-15 to an ak-47
