I want one for basically for the parts. Suspension, brakes, wiring harness, radiator with fans and other small things like that. My plan is to buy one, get the parts that I need, and sell everything else like the engine and the transaxle. Or would it be smarter/economical to buy the parts listed above like on the forums and craigslist rather to buy a wrecked C5???

My budget for my new build is very tight.

Then I would just look for parts on the site.. Don't buy one just to get parts.

You can get good deals looking in Texas Classifieds or the other state classifieds.

Don't tie up all your money on a wrecked car.. It might take you even longer to sell the other parts to get your money back.

Why would you buy a vette for the parts you listed above?

There is money in parting cars out, but you will often be sitting on parts for awhile.

Just buy the parts you need in the classifieds and call it a day. What kind of car are you putting these parts in anyways?

Thinking about building one of these. 19k for the kit plus vette parts and a dirty engine. 40k all said and done.

Buying a wrecked C5 is a great idea, you have everything you need at once. I wouldn't pay more than $4 or $5k for one. You can get nice cars for like $10k now.

if your building a kit car like that i would suggest getting a totaled vette to swap instead of buying it piece by piece

It's a kit car by Factory Five that uses c5 parts. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds with a stock ls6. It takes roughly 700 hours to complete. So my plan is to buy a wrecked c5 to use the parts to build one of these. I figured it will take about a year to complete. I always wanted a Lambo by the age of 23 but i can settle for this lol.

When my C5 got totaled I bought it back from the insurance company for around 6k. There's a huge market for totaled vettes that aren't damaged beyond repair. I was pretty pissed off about the high price, but I have more than that in parts in it, so I had to get it back.

Doesn't include radiator, fuel tank, and frame...only matters if you needed that stuff...but for that kind of coin id expect exactly whats in the picture
