My dad got a new cts in 08 when they first came out. Still to this day he believes its one of the best looking cars on the road and I agree. Unfortunatly, it has been one of the worst cars he has ever owned. At 2000 miles the engine had to be replaced due to cam failure issues. He has always had a horrible loud wind noise coming from the sunroof area that still to this day hasnt been fixed. They have replaced the sunroof two times. It has been in the shop for other small things here and there. Def not what you would expect from a 40k plus caddy. Now at 35k miles his timing chain broke leaving him stranded out of town on a business trip. He has tried everything with caddy including corporate and they never do anything for him. He said he is finally done with the car but has no idea what to get. Now he is going to go higher up in the ranks to see what will happen but Im sure we shoudnt hold our breathes. My question is, what other cars out there would compare to the sportiness and looks of this caddy? Need opinions of other 4 door sport sedans around the 40k price range.

You did not specify if he wants a brand new one or if a used one will do.
I'm sure the "buy American"-bandwagon will get their panties in a wad from what I'm about to say, but oh well...![Icon Rolleyes](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_rolleyes.gif)
If he is looking for a brand new one, I'd take a serious look at BMW 3-series. 328i starts around 35K. As usual, options will add up quite a lot, but I think a 40K 328i would be quite nicely equipped. And if he has the means, I'd bump to 335i, but that starts at around 42K, though.
Another once would be MB C-class. They start around the same numbers. Plus options.
Looks are a matter of opinion, of course. I've never driven the new CTS, so I can't attest to the sportiness of it, but if you can't find sportiness from the way the 3-series handles, then I can't help. C-class is not too far behind, either.

Why do you ask our opinions here, when it is obvious you never take advice anyways? Now, go buy your Toyota/Kia/Hyundai regardless of what is said here, and come back and start another thread about Kia/Toyota/Hyundai greatness and how you know everything there is to know about foreign/domestic cars and which are the best of the best. You seem to be the expert here, maybe we should all be asking you for car buying advice?
