"The expletives in a new Alamo Drafthouse anti-texting PSA are not Alamo's.
No, they're geniusly borrowed from an enraged female customer at an Austin location who was booted after two warnings for continuously texting during a movie. (Alamo has a strict no-texting or talking policy that dates back to the 90s.)
After the customer — we'll call her "Functionally Illiterate" — left a piece of her mind on the office voicemail, Alamo staff lifted her rant and spun it into the most effective anti-text/anti-talking PSA that we've ever seen.
After poo-poohing Alamo Drafthouse for making her feel like a piece of excrement, the young woman points out that none of the other Austin-area theaters she's frequented seemed to "give a ****" whether she texted during films or not.
Alamo CEO Tim League, who penned the accompanying article on the Alamo Drafthouse blog, signs off — "Ma'am, you may be free to text in all the other theaters in the Magnited States of America [F.I.'s words], but here at our "little crappy *** theater," you are not. Why you may ask? Well, we actually do give a f*$k."
