My wife and I will be going to Houston in a couple weeks for the weekend. We are both in our Mid 20's and have never been to Houston. Does anyone have any recommendations on a fun place to stay and things to do while we are down there?
Thanks,
Brandon

Well it is not really a vacation. We will drive down Friday afternoon and drive home Sunday afternoon. We are trying to get away for a couple days and since we have never been to Galveston or Houston we thought we would check it out. Does NASA offer tours on Saturday? We will defiantly have to go to Gaidos on Saturday night for dinner. Is there a fun bar on the beach we can walk to after leaving Gaidos? The wife would like to go to the Arts district in Houston so we will do that as well at some point. Does anyone recommend a nice Hotel on the beach in Galveston or just a nice Hotel in Houston? My car is broke so we will not be doing any cruises or going to the track. Any other recommendation’s on things to do during the day either on Saturday or Sunday? We are open to anything and I really appreciate everyone's ideas.
Thanks,
Brandon

If your in Galveston and like high horsepower and things fast, I would have to recommend the Lone Star Flight Museum. Yes, it's a WWII aircraft museum but its not your normal museum because they fly the WWII aircraft. You can even buy a ride in one of the planes to help support the aircraft. This allows them to keep them flying for all our Vets. www.lonestarflight.org

They do have a couple bars on the seawall to go to after your done eating it just depends on what you like to do.
Let me know what you think about Gaidos... I can't tell you how many times I've eaten their.... I love the food.
And yes NASA is open on Sat. Here's the website for them. Save $5 per person by paying online.

My wife and I are in our mid 20's as well and I'd recommend staying in Galveston (lots of things to walk around and see with plenty of good food) and checking out the Kemah Boardwalk one day (they have a GREAT wooden rollercoaster here) and Moody Gardens another (you'd have to google Moody Gardens to see all they have...it's a fun place to check out). Would be a great way to spend the weekend.

Kemah, Moody Gardens, and east beach if you wanna relax with a cold one.
There are all kind of bar/grills on the seawall, that are close.

Best hotel/seafood Not fancy but very clean and well kept, and nice staff. Have pool. Best bang for the buck IMO.
