i have the hd hero but haven't gotten around to using it yet (on car)... it's a cool little camera... only thing i don't like about it is that you can't really see what you're shooting since there is no display... you could record for a second and pop the card in your comp to check but that is a hassle and may not always be possible... with the wide angle lens you can just point it in the general area of what you want to shoot and you will prob be ok but i would rather be sure that i'm getting what i want to shoot... they do offer an add on lcd display for like $50 or so, i plan on getting one of those as well... hard to beat for the money though with everything you get

I got the HD Hero motorsport package, its fantastic.
Only complaint I have is low light viability and long distance viewing could be better.
It pretty much "sees what you see" I think its something like 130deg vision?
So you really don't have to worry about what its gonna pick up lol.
Get the HD Hero 2 that just came out.
Much better in low light and its sharper.
All for the same price, wish I knew that was coming out and I would have waited like 2 more months lol.

I have a Motorsports HD Hero and I love it. My friend just got a HD Hero 2 and it is a lot clearer. I highly recommend the LCD BacPac. With that you can use it as a regular digital camera, it takes awesome high resolution pictures.

yes there is but the GoPro is the most durable and water proof. and i believe it is the only one that has an option for a digital screen in this category of "action cameras"

*** EDIT THIS IS ALSO WATER PROOF AND HAS A DIGITAL SCREEN ***

To the OP: I have the GoPro HD. I use it a lot in the videos I make. http://www.youtube.com/user/Red01WS6 Works great in all types of film environments, even at night. My only pet peeve about it is the camera mount, sometimes it sucks to get the right angle you need.
The only other one I know of is the Contour HD, which I've seen a lot of the lambo guys use. Quality is the same, but with the Contour you get less of the fisheye look.
BTW, for those of you all who plan on getting the LCD screen for the GoPros, make sure to update to the latest firmware before you install it or else it will just crash the camera every time you boot it up.
