Successful Carrer?
And I am not saying you are fool, before you get pissed.
I know peeps that have the CISSP in SA and make $100K and up.
You will have to put in the time in engineering. Having roommates that are non-engineering is hard since you will see them relaxing and having fun while you hit the books. However, having a job that is decent pay and has weekends off is nice! My old roommate now works every weekend and doesn't have the benefits I do.
You will always make sacrafices, but you have to ask yourself - do you want to do that now, or later?

And for the ones who don't know what A&P is, in short it's an Aircraft Mechanic, I work for one of the major airlines, started off on the ramp and just bull shitting with the mechanics here and there and just watched what they do and decided to go for my A&P license..so that's what I'm doing while I'm still fairly young, unmarried and no kids...
Find something you love doing, learn to do it to the best of your ability, and the money will eventually follow. Nothing is an overnight success. It took having my nose to the grindstone for over 10 years (into my 30s) after school to finally get into the higher salaries. You must be willing to do whatever it takes, even sweep the floors, to work your way up.
Nothing irritates me more than fresh out of college punks who think they're entitled to six figure incomes. That degree is not a salary guarantee. Hard work, dedication, and consistent demonstration of skills is what gets you there. The degree just opens the door.
Best of luck.
My wife just got a BS in Nursing from one of the top schools in the country and has several 6-figure offers waiting but she'd rather stay at home with our newborn son. Im fine with that - its all about what makes YOU happy
Ya, you can make good $ in the oilfield, but they tend to work a lot of hours to make that money too. Money is nice, but the older I get its more time away from work to enjoy life that I want.
Work is a large portion of your life. Find something you enjoy and then find a way to make money doing it.
Also keep in mind that some people that have a lot of toys are deeply in debt. I remember working with guys that had to have X amount of OT to pay for all of their toys. No matter how much you make you're always better off living within your means.

) posts I can conclude that it might be easier than I thought, I mean why take so much pressure to do something right?
