Default Why roll race?

Just wondering any body still race there car from a dig?

I love watching vids of grudge matches from a dig. But all I see lately is roll racing . Very nice built cars but only roll racing ? I doubt is because there scared of breaking something with all the great parts now for our cars. Any body still like old school racing from a dig?

I prefer racing from a dig. But, that is because I'm confident as a driver.

Depends, racing against a auto with a stick from a dig is not easy to do on the street, so a roll eliminates the drive line shock to even things up. Hate to get he L from not being at the track where duping 7000 simply yanks the tires off ground and rolls out.

A auto can have the ability to not shock the rear tires and have control.

The argument will go one forever, like a *******, everybody has an opinion.

... and they all stink.

A race is a race, dig or roll. It's the ******** doing digs on the highway that **** me off.

Just seems to me like roll racing is a band aid for you or your cars weakness.....whether its a weak rear end, bad tires, or a crappy driver.........I'll play around from a roll, but the only thing that counts in my book is going from a dig. I take pride in being able to row the gears

We primarily roll race around here because there's just not that many places to run from a dig. Plus, roll races are a little more conspicuous, not as loud (no burn outs, etc), just run and get back to the meet.

A race is a race is a race. Do you get a different feeling if you're running from a dig than a roll? (I'm not taking sides, I enjoy both).

One could also say racing from a dig is a band aid for a car that doesn't have enough power to beat some one once they're moving too. A well set up car with less power can own a more powerful car that's not optimized to race from a stop. To each his own.

Agreed!! Run what you brung and if you chased you raced. Just my thought but most of the roll racing is from big power cars that will never hook from a dig for what ever reason tires, suspension etc. Not saying this is the case for all.

Feeling? Yeah bro for me there's a difference. Dig is crazy, the wait before you take off was pretty cool.

Only reason I don't like roll racing ( or use to Cus my cars on stands now lol) I felt a good built car can do both. And I was only showing half the cars talent. And roll racing felt to me like playing football from half time. I have a six speed so banging all the gears with out missing was great feel.

Like the guys above have said racing is racing. But I do find it retarded when people roll race to 140+ mph.... Lets be real not many people will trap that at the track so what's the point in running them up that high?

But I do prefer a good ol fashion dig race that's for sure.

That video you posted shows the typical moronic ricer who shouldn't be running their 100whp cars in the first place. I'm not sure what you posted that for. Sure there is risks involved with racing on the street, but there is risks involved with everything.

there is a time and a place for dig racing, on the highway is not one of them, at any time. is it like it used to be? no. will it ever be the same? probably not. should we take it to the track? we do. will it ever stop? no. are there risks evolved, and do we know it? yes.

I think there should be a defense built in to street racing that if the act is done in a location where there is zero traffic, it would be a class C, but the possibility of zero traffic anywhere that is public....ZERO.
