Hey Guys

My name is Adam and just moved to the orange area a couple of days ago from Horseheads NY. I own a corvette z06 that I run HPDE's with. I had the luxury of being 15 mins away from Watkins glen (something I wont have anytime soon). Wanted to introduce myself and see if there are any Ls1 tech member close by.

If there are people on here; i wanted to met some people and to see if I could get some insight to the area with regards to shops meets etc.

I bought the 5.3 in my mustang from orange bout almost 2 years ago from a guy on here..wonder if he's still out there..super cool guy and gave me a killer deal on the longblock. 300 bucks and came with extras..anywho welcom to Texas man! might have to bring that vette up to Houston sometime!!

JaSSon WAS active in orange as was Scotty as well as several other good ppl, stop by Bakers trans shop and meet the Freemans ( good ppl also)

watck the boards for the "Cruise N Silsbee" around Oct 12 th you will have a ball
( we have a new City C O P this year not sure how he will react on the cruise)

I'm over here in BC, there is a few regular car shows that go on. First weekend is suppose to be at Office Depot in Port Arthur(I've never been), third weekend is cars and coffee in front of Gander Mountain in Beaumont and that evening is the Orange car show at Wienerschnitzel(or however you spell it). I haven't been to any of them lately cuz I have a 3 month old. There is a drag strip in Evadale, I know there is a road course in College Station, but I don't know about Houston. People use to hang out at Kohl's in Beaumont, but the last time I went there I didn't stay long. I think us south east Texas boys need to get a cruise together, say maybe a run from Orange to Beaumont or Lumberton taking all the back roads out in the woods.

Road course guys in the area speak well of MSR Houston which is really in Angleton. Houston HPDE has events there couple times a year.

im in beaumont and drive a orange g8...whats all done to the vette and is it a c5z or c6z? maybe we can meet up one day and roll out to evadale or somewhere and can let you meet some of the quick vette people...hell i think the fastest vette we have around is still on the stock bottom end and only has a cam,built tranny and converter..yea i know pretty sad lol..

Yeah I'll say the last time I saw the track in college station it was open, but time gets away and that was probably ten years ago, lol. I don't get why everybody says there is nothing to do here, when I was younger we lived at big lots in orange and Rogers park and not just on the weekends(we also didn't get in trouble for competitive driving). We have woods, lakes, rivers, beaches; it was never a dull moment when I was younger. Now I just enjoy staying home at playing with the kids as much as anything else. If we want to go to the track, or zoo, or whatever i don't mind driving, i dont want to live in the middle of that crap. So I love it here, just wish the skeeters would go away.

LOL I am used to small town ill make it work..def down to drinking beer and going to the meet.

slow02gt I have a C5 Z06 its a 02 with an exhaust, intake, and C5 shifter. I am putting my money into seat time at the track. Def down to meet up i am around this weekend, and next week (going to gander mountain). Let me know when your free and will make something work.
