I know its early in the game, but whats the '13 GT500 running the 1/4 mile in?
Last I heard and saw, its not even in the 10's yet (stock, or tires only). (I'm saying that like its nothing, lol.)
Also, last I looked, the '13GT500 traps looked a lot more like Z06 traps than ZR1 traps...
Or am I totally wrong?
Just wanna get my facts straight if I am.
I dunno why price is a figure for fighting over...they're two totally different cars.
2 seats...4 seats...like you said, no point arguing in terms of handling as well.

Lol whoever mentioned the zr1 is an idiot. You can buy a gt500 and have back seats, and ****. And pay half the price. The zr1 is a ******* carbon fiber IRS supercar. The gt500 is still just a mustang.

I'm not trying to compare ZR1 vs GT500 (new or old) just got a little confused when someone said the ZR1 would get "walked" by a GT500 in any category.
Camaro ZL1 should be the true comparison against the GT500, which it seems to be under par so far. IMO the ZL1 was the answer to the pre-13 GT500. Everyone has to play catch up at some point. Honestly I don't think GM can do it, they're not nearly in as good of a financial position as Ford.
Love me some GM, but damn the Boss 302 is nasty.
Hopefully we'll see a LS3ish powerplant in a ~3500lb car.

mid to high 11's bone stock, and there's one in the 9's already.

THIS is why i always think it's funny when someone tries to bring the vette into the discussion.

My post was totally serious, no sarcasm.
As I stated, I'd like to fix my "facts" if they are wrong.
I was saying the '13 GT500 was slower than the ZR1.
Which you seemed to have proved but for some reason we have confusion???
I know there's one in the 9's...why I stated (bone stock, or tires)
Pretty sure there's several Z06's in the 10's with just a tire.

i thought you were saying that you didn't know how fast the -13 shelby is/was yet. it's crazy fast bone stock, and if you look in the other threads here, someone posted up the video of evolution performances shelby running 9.95@142.
i fully agree that it is slower than the vette......and that it dam well should be. i loves my fords, but i'm not too blind to realize or admit that the vette is the king of the hill. i find it kind of funny(as previously stated) that anyone tries to compare the two.
in my eyes, the vette vs shelby is the same as the vette vs zl1.....two different cars, two different target markets.
if i jumped the gun on ya, i apologize.

The 5th Gen Camaro is as sexy as a hooker bent over with a vat of lube and a smile.
The Tech in the car is a plus too. As mentioned, and I fully agree, my 2011 is a fat ***** and I got the short stick and i'm sad about it.
Ill probably port the stock heads, slap a fat ****-stick in it, tune it and exhaust and call it a day. Not worth me dumping too much coin in. The bitch is too fat.
For Sale 2011 IOM 56k miles, mint condition. Please help!

I'd be happy with a 5th gen.
Just have to take it for what it is, fat.
LS3 is an awesome motor, just do what you said (H/C) and it'll overcome most of the weight and turn it into a new monster.
Is the 1LE going to be less of a pig?
~300lb less tuned LS3 5th gen would be pretty sweet with ZL1 suspension/brakes.

If i was to go with a race car, i would not buy anything new and then gut the snot from it, so all this is relatively funny to watch be argued about. I can throw my junky 6.0 in a gutted fox and beat 99% of the street cars out there all motor, on 87 octane, but who cares. It would still be a junky, gutted fox.
