So with the little info you gave us, we are supposed to tell you what caused the fire in your car with open headers?!

WTF, jack the car up and look at it, was something in the way or was something resting on the headers?

Im going to go out on a limb here and say it was your open headers or a shitty install by you of the open headers and something was touching the header and caught on fire. Replace whatever caught fire, and make sure it does not contact your couple hundred degree headers and you should be fine.

You do a half *** job installing some headers that are most likely a shitty brand, and leave them open. Thereby catching your car on fire...

And I'M the dumbass...

Why does it seem that most people who joined after 2010 are complete morons? Not all of them, I've seen a few good ones. But people like this guy. HE'S the reason these forums are going downhill.

OP, sell your car and get a damn Honda.

Oh, and don't try blaming the awful spelling and grammar on your Iphone. I've seen some of your other posts, and they are just as bad.

Wow, OP. It looks like you're getting flamed in more than one way.

As for your issue, it could be a LOT of things. I never had my car catch on fire, but I had some old headers that were ceramic and had a crack that would flame up a bit.

Check your starter wiring. It fell against the headers and got lit up.

I agree it's all of these damm youngin's that can't carry a conversation without introducing text message style abbreviations and they think we are odd because we don't get the lingo.

OP if you want help you have to at least try to help yourself first. Why even post something that no one here has the answer to? We don't know if it was an electrical fire or a fire cause by the heat from the headers. And all because you are to lazy to even jack the god damn car up and have a look.

The others are right, you (and others like you) are why this forum has gone to complete ****. Its hard to be a "productive member" when people like you just muck up any thread thats worth reading.

Sounds like something was sitting on the header and caught fire.

When i install any type of headers on any car.
I take the time to tie together any loose or dangling wiring. I use heat shield wrap on wires, if i got it. But ive used aluminum foil to wrap and protect wires also. Works excellent, its metal, so even if the wires touch when there wrapped. It wont burn thru.
Been doin this since like 00. Never have had any burnt wires or fires yet.
Even with my own homebrew diy headers and turbo hotparts

What are you like 16? Don't post on the site asking for help and in return talk ****. Your grammar usage makes you sound incompetant, and I, myself, cant take you serious, so i can see why others cant. Im not bashing you, just stating the obvious. As others have said, jack the car up, and get a look for yourself before you ask for help, Post pics, that might also help.

On a side note, do your neighbors get pissed when you let your car with open headers warm up? Mine would lose their minds.
When I have a problem and I recently made a change, whether it be a car or anything else, I go back to the last thing I changed. In this case your headers and anything in the immediate area. I'd start there and just use a common sense approach when troubleshooting.
