Anyone know how or where I can have my ps3 fixed??
My ps3 doesn't read any games or DVDs I know there are two separate lasers for the games and the DVDs. Does anyone know how to fix this or where I can get it fixed? Thanks.

Is it the fat or the slim? Much better to just buy a new drive, replacing the laser isn't recommended as the replacements are cheap and if your going to do all that work just make your life easier. I've fixed PS3's before. If you have a FAT sell it, upgrade overdue.

my FAT one works 10x better than most of the slims....so what if it only has like a billion playing hours on it?? lol.....naa for real though, with a new console being as cheap as it is, it's easier to just replace it.....think my FAT one is one of the last backwards compatible ones left alive.

Fat broken PS3's sell for about $50 from what I have seen for parts. Since yours had a broken drive and not the solder issue (yet) you will have no problem selling it. BTW ALL Fat PS3's will eventually die, there is no way around it. The solder used after it ages starts to break apart. You can heat the chip up and temp fix it and it will last for awhile until it needs to be done again. I can't tell you how many times I had to fix the same one over and over.

False. People say they are better, but when they say better they mean in the case of legacy support to play older games and to install other OS' on the system. But i'd much rather have a stable system with a newer chipset and better cooling. I guarantee you all FAT PS3's eventually die.
