Be more appreciative :)
Just curious...how many of you guys have a female partner who can do some work on cars? From the reaction I get from guys I'm going to guess not that many.
Not to air out personal laundry on here, but be more appreciative towards your significant other. Especially if they're going to work on your car and just asking that you be patient.
Just looking for support when it comes to a busy girl, car issues and a husband upset about the car and not enough hours in the day.

My wife graduated from OTC in Ohio and is a certified mechanic. We used to do small stuff for our friends like waterpumps alternators, etc. I knew I was going to marry her when she crawled up on a lifted dodge Cummings to thread in some bolts for the waterpump and she was wearing a pair of booty shorts.

My wife is no super wrench but she loves to help in any way she can when I'm working on one of ours. She's been under the car covered in dirt and grease pulling fuel tanks and replacing brake lines and the like. She goes to Pick-A-Part and places like that with me also. But it seems you do the major part of the repairs in your household and your husband thinks it should be done quicker. Fat chance. If you also work outside the house, even if it's as an auto tech like me, and also have to take care of house hold issues like yard, repairs, dishes, cooking, etc. then he needs to understand that it's not like you have 8 hours a day where you are getting paid to fix his car. Yes you save the money of not paying a garage but it comes when there's time to spare for it. It took me about 6 months to overhaul the Northstar drivetrain in our DeVille and she didn't bitch a bit. She knows how hard this work is and how many Saturdays I spent working on it and all the hours finding parts and making plans on what all to do. It's not easy to do all of that and keep up with the rest of the world. If you are doing all the usual lady things, working, and or raising the kids PLUS fixing the cars, and hell who am I kidding? AND if that's your rack in your avatar, he should just be happy to wash clothes and hand you wrenches.

Oh I'm sure the booty shorts had nothing to do with it. Lol. I wanted to become a certified mechanic but my mother wasnt too crazy about it. I should've done it at least to have that under my belt.
We'll be married 22 years and many of times has he found me under the car.

To Vernon. Don't get me wrong he does his share and we split responsibilities. But like all normal person he gets antsy. We just acquired his Camaro not too long ago and not being able to drive it is getting to him.
Yes we both work full time and have a 2.5 year old daughter. I also play soccer on Sundays. So Saturdays are for running errands, family time and projects (home or auto). And yes, that's me in the avatar. *blush*

My wife has no desire to work on anything, she has her own hobbies I care nothing for. we meet in the middle. she dose her and I do mine. I do realize my hobbies cost a ton more and are more involved but we meet in the middle and it all works out. I always thought I would be with a women who was into car/guns/hunting but it wound up being totally opposite.

We do lots of things together just don't have all the time needed to do them all and yeah sometimes not having the money for our toys. The baby comes first.
I do all the girly things like scrap booking, knitting, cross stitch, crochet. But also put stuff together, shelving, our child's things like the tricycle and stuff like that. I've gone shooting. Don't care for it but can shoot a rifle and shotgun. And also like going to titty bars.

My wife likes to drive them and the attention they get but really has no interest in working on them.
We'll see- her 79 TA will be out of the paint shop next week- then the build starts.
I don't really care either way- with two little kids it is hard to do anything together and my time in the garage is as much therapy as it is projects.

That's funny. But I'm sure yawl have something in common. Or at least you did. . As long as you make it work. And you're both happy that's all that matters.

I would love to have a 2nd gen Camaro to have as a project and have our little girl help me with it. Well once she got older and if its something she wants to do
Glad to hear how you guys accept your wife's/girlfriend's help in or outside the garage.
BTW. Thanks Chad. Compliments of breast cancer and my plastic surgeon. They're not really implants but more like transplant. The dr used my belly fat as a 'filler' you can say. But they are very much so mine.
Hubby just needs to chill and he knows it. It's not to his advantage to **** me off if you know what I mean. Hehe
