It was a joke indicating that the poster was hopeful the warranty would last longer than five miles of driving.

I used G&G Performance Engines in Tomball for my machining work.

Never heard of them, neither good or bad. Are they familiar with LS stuff?

Was wondering why you want a Texas machine shop when you are in Florida. There aren't any where you live. We don't mind taking your money, but shipping costs are gonna be a bitch.

See, the thing is I added up my parts list for me to build it , and what I was quoted from him was not that much more . So I was goning to go that route . I had a quote for u all and I was a big diff in price . I also had a shop in pompano beach AFT quote it with me buying the parts and it was about the same price as John gave me .

I will say this. Choose your engine builder carefully and ensure they are qualified to do the job. Make sure they have a good track record and plenty of positive feedback. If you are planning to use a one man machine shop to build an engine, I would suggest doing your research on that individual.

Sometimes cheap seems good, till you realize you need upgraded rod bolts, because the cheap **** you bought has shitty ones.

Or you pistons stick out or sink in your block and you have to pay to either to have block decked or pistons shaved because you just ordered some off the shelf **** instead of having a machine shop measure it up and order **** to set it at 0deck.

I have never regretted a single cent spent at my machine shop. If anything the motors always come back with more done than I would expect, or stuff I wouldn't have even gone through the trouble of.

From what I hear , good guy good builder . I was getting parts at cost . The only money he was profiting was to build it .

Just do your research. I found this....

http://60degreev6.com/forum/showthre...Five-Mile-Auto

Not sure if it's the same guy but the name seems to be the same. John Jinter or Ginter. I personally would rather do business with a machine shop in person. I want a tour of the shop I'm planning to spend $1000's at before I spend a dime. When I had my shortblock built by LME, Bryan personally walked me through the shop and showed me everything.
