Does anyone know of any fine and dining restaurants in the Lake Charles area?
I need some help from the tech food community. My bosses and I are traveling to Lake Charles tomorrow to meet with a potential candidate that they are trying to hire and relocate to our Houston region. I was asked to find a really really fine and dining restaurant to wow this guy; something along the lines of Salt Grass and Fogo de Chao. Any suggestions?
Thanks for any input

Let me modify my request. These guys are southern good ol boys. I don't want a restaurant that's to fancy that we all feel alienated and awkward. One of the senior bosses is always in jeans and flannel shirt/ shoes. Can't exactly go to suit and tie place LOL

But... There aren't ant SUPER fancy restaurants in Lake Charles that I can think of. However, there are a couple that come to mind and I think they're about what you're looking for.
First, there's "La Truffe Sauvage". They have foods from different regions. (France, Greece, ect). The food is really good, and the ambiance is nice, albeit a bit on the romantic side.
Next, there's "121 Bistro". The food is also good, but the ambiance isn't AS fancy. That may or may not be a good thing if you're taking a guy out. They have Italian food.
Those are the two main ones I could think of off hand. There are others, but I'm not sure they are what you're really looking for.

You could try Pat's of Henderson. Good Cajun cooking (lots of butter!), older style southern/gulf style atmosphere. It's like a hometown southern Papadeaux's with a more varied menu and better quality food. It's been a while and I've only been there a few times, so I can't comment on the service.

Just take them to eat at L'Auberge, food's good and it's as nice as Casinos get in LA. Plus the Jack Daniels Bar is pretty decent place to get drinks. $10 Cover, no cover at the Globe Bar though which is on the Casino floor.
The food there is pretty awesome, we took some folks their for work when we were working down in Cameron. Every one enjoyed it.
