Default Time for a new motor! What to do?

I know some of you guys on here have proven builds just wondering which way to go with the build I have searched and I'm either going to go with a 383 with my block I have now (LS1) or go with the LQ9 408 I'm wanting to use my heads I have now (stage 2 243 westcoast heads) I don't remember the exact numbers on them going to keep it on the juice (max 150 shot) already have most supporting mods and I'm on stock rear and trans (yes I know I will need to change them) so really just wanting to see what you guys thought

Question: would my heads (stage 2 243) and cam (228/232 113LSA) be a good package on a 383 or 408

HP goals 500+ N/A power?
ET goals 6-6.5 1/8th?
To much to ask for ^^

let me know what you guys think or some of yalls proven HP packages
oh and the car is not a DD but would like it to be streetable

Those heads will work good on the 383. I Don't like iron Blocks in Camaros.. (personal thing) its an extra 120 lbs. Id do ALOT bigger cam than that ans get a Fast 102. and I personally wold do the 383, your heads, fast 102. something like a 238/244 .635 ish lift 113 lsa

So you'd like 500 hp at the wheels or motor? Because it's a pretty substantial difference

well I would love 500 RWHP but that probably a little out of my budget. LQ9 would add weight but should make more power/TQ to level things out not really looking for a dyno queen really wanting it to be a sweet street machine

Your cam would make a fat, fantastic torque curve on a street car in exchange for giving up 40ish rwhp. It would also be relatively reliable, which is nice. Depends on how and how much you drive that car. If you care about turning/handling, go with an Al block, otherwise the iron 408 is your ticket. With some AI heads, true duals, and a proper cam, you could see 500rwhp.

Most important question that no one has asked: what is your REALISTIC budget, including install?

a buddy of mine is going to do all the work for me at his shop so labor wise ill be in the clear but still don't want to spend a crap load on parts either as I also have a WS6 I'm wanting to do a cam/head swap on soon that's kinda why I said reuse my heads and cam do you think those heads would be enough on a 408 with a monster cam? if not then I might be stuck with going the 383 route as far as parts cost I'm thinking should be about the same on either build (if I keep the same heads) 408 will cost more in the long run cause ill have to buy an LQ9 but its do-able just looking for the best bang for the buck of course

We had a 383, ported 243's Ported 102, 11.5-1 Compression. Custo grind Cam. Close to what I Specd you. And it make just over 500 rwhp through a t56.
