Default SOM WS6 wrecked. Opinion wanted

So this happened last week. The other guy is at fault. His insurance is totaling the vehicle. They have not provided their settlement offers yet but said one offer will include giving me back the car.

It’s an 02 LOTB 6 speed w/ 94k miles in great condition. All original except for a new clutch put in a month ago.

Obviously the amounts of the settlements will be a deciding factor. What would y’all put as the value and what do you think you would do? take it back and get it repaired or take the money and let their insurance do whatever with it?

Also if fixing it back any suggestions in North Texas to assist in that project?

If given the option, I’d keep it. New front end and a hood and it’s good to go. Was there any damage to the frame?

I mean it is hard to tell in these pictures however, the damage does not look too bad. If it was me, I would buy it back and fix it. It looks like all you need is a bumper, fender, hood headlights and probably all the radiator / condenser stuff. Good luck with what ever choice you make.

This. A good body shop can take care of that. I would want to be kept whole, but it is a beautiful car and worth fixing.

You can buy them most of the time also from the insurance companies for a few hundred bucks and thats on top of them paying for the totalling. Happened a few times where a couple buddies bought there cars for $100 . If the air bags didn't go off, not sure theres enough damage to total that car? But keep us up to date.

I submitted alot of research and documentation and convinced them to give the car back to me, not totaled, plus a check for $11k. 👍
