I just use jackstands, haven't found any ramps that don't scrape the **** out of my car.

I use a couple of 2x4's to drive up on first, then I can get the floor jack under it.

homemade ramps.
2x12s nailed together. Safer than plastic IMO, and cheaper. My title is very fitting.
the stands I have dont have a pad wide enough to span the subframe, therefore making an indention in it, if i use them. plus they are small as hell.

I'll be cussing/changing mine this week. Forgot to oil the top of the filter last time, so that will be fun to get off....... Just like it was the last time. I still cant believe i forgot to do that, even after i had to beat the living hell out of the filter to get it off last time because of the same deal. Suck.

I've forgotten to oil the gasket before on my '70 Chevy. I had to hammer a big screwdriver into it to get that damn filter off.

I just change it at home for the Trans Am, use some rhino ramps. Blazer I dont change, not worth the trouble/time to me, just take that some where and get it done for 21$ and afull service car wash.

I just jack up one front side, the pass. I think and put a stand under the car. it enough room to squeeze under and do it.

I think those places you go to dont put much care into doing it, Im sure they dont let the oil fully drain as much. Plus, its cheaper to do it yourself
