Yup, it sure is, and I sure have, from the wooded lot with just a sold sign all the way up, inside and out. I probably have between 300 and 400 digital photos so far over a 6 month period.

And thanks. Not as nice as yours, but it'll do. We really needed (well, wanted) the extra space. Most of the square footage is in the downstairs (around 2750) and the rest is the gameroom upstairs with another full bath. Besides, if we went custom this time around, our goal to be driving a 2007 C6 Z06 would've had to be put on hold indefinitely. Got to have priorities.

Well I was going to get a Z06 also but was not going to pay 10k over sticker. I was told something else but since these are in high demand, it will be a while before you pay under 75k for one so I got my new H2 truck, and a nicer home which I think was a better investment....

I am the manager for the design department for a custom home builder here in Houston and I can assure you stucco cost more than brick. Yes most of the cost does come from the added labor. It is considered an upgrade over brick and most of our larger homes do come in stucco. I'm not sure where the idea came from that is of any less value than brick. Several people on this board know me so its not I'm just guy no one knows saying stuff.

Jeff,
Your house looks great, congrats. Its been a while since I've been on here, I'm taking it your back from Arkansas (or whereever you were).

Vince,
Your house looks great too. Moving out there closer to Chris and Kim I see. Joanne wants to move soon too. I've got a plan drawn its just going to cost us 350+ to build and we don't even have a lot yet.

Did you know we built Edd's new house and we are currntly building one for Eyal out in Greatwood?

The nerdy question: Is it going to be wired for networking?

Wink

That is a damned nice looking house Jeff! And hell yes, a house is a much better investment than a car!

Vince-- The stone looks great! I see they got the driveway poured as well, almost done!

Hi Mike!

I think Vince was actually closer before, his new place is right smack dab inbetween us and you. Kim and I have been meaning to get by there to see you guys it seems like forever.

We saw Edd's house, it is absolutely gorgeous, I just wish it was closer!

I had heard that you were building a mansion for Eyal, maybe one of these days he'll come back and post up.

Ours was a pretty decent investment. We already have about 30K in equity just from the rising building costs over the last six months.

And that's also why I'm waiting until mid 2007 to even think about a new Z06. I refuse to pay over sticker (hell, I gripe if I have to pay over invoice).

Yes, I agree, if you can afford to go custom, it would be a better investment in the long run. To do custom with everything we wanted would have cost in the neighborhood of 350K, and that was out of our budget.

Yep, Chris, it's getting there.

And, Mike, yes I was aware you were doing Ed's house, but I wasn't aware you were doing Eyal's. Say hi to him for us.

Vince, this is the first time I've seen your house. Its not exactly sloppy seconds to Jeff's. That is a very nice house with a great floorplan! Hopefully you get to close sometime this month.

Sloppy seconds Tracey? I'm not use to hearing this much....

Mike, where is Eyal building???

Vince house is very nice but I really did not want to build in another sub division and wanted acres of property and got 2 which was plenty of space. It's pretty neat seeing deer run across our streets. It seems that we have road runners and plenty of other wildlife out there....
