Default did ebay actually ask for my cc info?

I went on ebay to try to sell soemthing. and when i went to sell, it asked for my Credit card info. I remember getting an email a couple months ago saying that my CC needed to be changed bc it had expired. Well, needless to say. I put the CC info in. But for some reason. when i click on personal info it doesnt have my CC number. It has my debit card number. I dont see the CC card number anywhere. Think i got scammed for my info?

send ebay an email as soon as possible to see if it was them asking for your cc or not. It may have been them, it could take a little while to update your account. GOOD LUCK!

true. Im not sure how it would have happened tho. I didnt open up any emails or anything. I just went to ebay. I remember it asking for the CC info a few times before when i tried to sell soemthing(all of which happened after my CC expired), but I didnt feel like putting the info in the before times. hopefully it was legit, who knows. ebay is gay. no number to call.

I'll try that. I did all this yesterday. I went to send them an email but I couldnt find the right subject title and half of them were asking for a "ebay member" name for the fraud subject. So i couldnt send an email.

I NEVER reply as i know that i have not bid on anything in quite sometime... Often times they will send me things saying that i did not ship an item,,, or did not pay for an item..

I just blow them off...

I blow them off too.
The thing is, is that i did not get an email at all.

I went to ebay.com and then I was asked to put in my CC info before I was able to sell an item.

If it is in your e-mail it is fake- Ebay does not email at any time.
If it is in your ebay account it comes from Ebay and will be legit.

I called my credit card company. the said that there is a $1 pending charge from ebay. So I'm thinking ebay just did it to make sure everything was on the up and up. I guess i'll see what happens. Thanks for the help guys.

yes donohue, i was also suprised when it asked me

i think they want a form of payment for the ebay fees.

i clicked cancel, and if you do, it gives you an option to use paypal to pay the ebay fees

i gguess now they want a cc or paypal info on file to deduct it directly, maybe they been getting burned more recently"?

If you manually type the address, you're good. It's when you start clicking links, not watching the URL you're going to, that'll get you scammed.

Yes you got scammed. EBAY or ANY other company NEVER sends out emails asking for you to input information of any kind....you were linked to a bogus/mock website in the email and your info was promptly stolen. Call the CC company NOW!!!!! This could quite possible also happen if someone were to make a favorite on your computer to the bogus site....It CAN be done.

****. maybe i did open an email.

catn remember. either way my CC company earlier told me tha teverything looks ok. and that ebay has a 1dollar pending charge. So it looks legit to me, unless its a fake ebay company that has the pending charge.
