Default Traffic ticket attorney in Huntsville???

I got a ticket for 90 in a 65 so it's 1mph over the cutoff for defensive driving! I was in a rental car so it wasn't the T/A, not sure if that would matter or not though. Does anyone know of a lawyer i could call to help me out or what any good options would be other than a lawyer? thanks!

I'm sure the DA would lower the ticket to allow you to take defensive driving if you asked. If not, just do deferred adjudication and don't get another ticket. That's all a lawyer will do for you.

i asked about deffered adjudication and she told me i couldn't take it bc the cutoff for it is also 24 or under so i'm still 1 off!!
How do i go about talking to the DA, do i call their office?

Deferred adjudication isn't something you take, maybe she was confused as to what you were asking for. I can't imagine them not offering deferred.

Show up on your court date and you should be able to talk to the judge/DA about it. Since it's a quazi-small town... you might be able to call the judge/DA directly.

BTW, I'm pretty sure the general guideline for Defensive Driving is 25 and under, but in Texas... whatever the judge says goes.

hmm, I looked at some website and it looked like it said in texas, if you take deferred adjudication, it still shows up on your record, is this true for traffic tickets too? I'm kinda scared to go talk to the judge since she said he isn't very lenient
Crap!

I called 2 law offices and got a different story from each.

One said it would be $175 and they would send them a letter asking for deferred adjudication.

Another said they would transfer it from the municipal court to the county court which would double my ticket to just about $600 and they would charge $150 and try to get me deferred adjudication or defensive driving or something like that

My last choice is to go in front of the judge on my own and admit i was an idiot and try to see if he will help me out.

i dunno what to do!
