Default F*ck an aluminum block

Tuesday night i went to the local pool tournament and took my car. I drove home in the rain and parked my car. No problem. Wednesday, when i got off of work, went home and decided to go run some errands. Got in my car started it up and...knock, knock. the block was cracked and oil was spraying all over the k-member. WTF!! Don't know the reason, all i know is no more aluminum block. I am going back with either a 6.0 liter or an iron block LS1.

Aluminum blocks just do not crack without a reason. You do realize there are guys making over 1,000 rwhp with aluminum LS1 blocks, right?

-how many miles on the engine?
-where was it cracked?
-NX kit in your signature?

For some reason water and iron mixes better then water and aluminum when talking about engines and cracking........

I have not heard of someone cracking an Iron block from adding water to a hot motor that is not cycling.

My aluminum block sprayed oil when it threw a rod which slammed into the block. I bet you threw a rod.

And i am not talking bad about aluminum blocks. Just IMO after this incident i don't like them. I know a lot of people making good power with them. Just not my cup of tea.
