hahaha. my dad used to always tell me to get my own insurance and they still do(everytime i buy a car). they've said it for the past 5 yrs and still havent gone through w it. . you'll be paying a good amount with it being just you, and sorry, but i dont have any recommendations. I only got one estimate about a yr ago from state farm to be by myself. it was like $175 liability(i think).

Get married, it will go down, but then you have the extra expense of a wife, lol. It might be cheaper to just pay the insurance rates.

Stay on your parents policy as long as possible, stop shopping/switching insurance co. every year so you can get a tenure discount for being a loyal customer for once, ask your agent about every discount available and take advantage of them all no matter how much work it takes to get it done (basically don't half *** a hand out), and don't be a moron and get dui's and tickets. SIMPLE!

I've been with esurance for years. I had three cars insured with them. Being the cheap *** that I am, I went for the absoloute bare-bones the state would let me drive with. I recently got rid of my wifes 97 honda crv and put her in an 07 escalade. I talked to esurance and they wanted $670 for six months of coverage on all 3 cars. Since I love the cavemen, I called geico. . . $311.50 for the same six months. Esurance wouldn't budge, so I will be switching today to geico. And I say funny, because I just got off the phone withe esurance less than ten minutes ago.

Well Mr. Bare Bones heres is some food for thought...do you realize that if someone else with a bare bones policy just like yours and hits your wifes escalade their insurance will only be able to pay for 15K in property damage? Thats right! So anything over that 15K in property damage is your responsibility to collect on. Their insurance company is gonna fold its arms and laugh at you. That is not even considering medical bills involved from the accident. The state only required 20K/max per person for medical 40K/max for everyone involved in the accident and 15K/max property damage. So you get to sue for the rest or file it on your own policy with a nice deductible.

Here is the flip side now you hit me in my escalade...I sue you for the rest beyond what your bare bones policy offers. Goodbye assets...all because your insurance company doesn't care to educate cavemen about their insurance. Your just another policy to them. When you have that first at fault you will be nice and upset when you find that you could put atleast enough coverage on your policy to hit 2 mack trucks for like $6 more per month...but hey it $6, right?! If your making all the insurance decisions for your family all I can say is don't be a caveman and stop assuming and ask questions.

I pay $117 a month through farmers, but I have my own policy through my parents policy. its under my name but a branch off of theirs. check and see if your insurance will do the same thing. It lowers your monthly and I have full coverage for ony $117 a month. it is def worth it and it allows you to start building credibility with them in case you might ever need it.

Kid I was posting comparisons of my price quotes between two different insurance companies on the same policy. It gives an idea on who gives better rates. That being said, keep your opinions and sarcasim on my insurance choices to yourself. You don't have a clue about me, or my personal resources.
