colder climates, i'd say worth the money
red has a longer warranty, yellow has a shorter warranty
i have a yellow top in my 3rd gen, got sound system and underpulleys,
i have drained my yellow top down to 0-1volt many--------many times, charge her up and shes good to go.
most folks just dont understand gel batterys,
most car manufactures are changing over to gel batterys casuse they handle loads better and charging cycles than old lead acid type
if i put a regular lead acid battery in my 3rd gen it will fail in less than 6 months, my yellow top is far out warranty since i have had it for 4 1/2 years now still running strong
i am going to replace my current battery in my 02 ss with a red top.
i say go for it, red top
1- Its self contained so you wont have to vent outside the car if you relocate to your trunk.
2- Its lighter. (not much) but if your hardcore then I guess its worth it.
my boss has one in his 69 ss. this is the third red top they have warrentied due to them just not starting the car. they just died. all at work.
another guy i know has had to put two in his truck... ive heard they have been known to just die. but i donno besides these two people.

If I had a blue, green, yellow, pewter, etc. car, I wouldn't have an optima though. It would stick out like a sore thumb and annoy the **** out of me. Don't know if that matters to any of you or not, but it's something to consider.
sams use to be the cheapest around till they went up
