As far as a Mach 1 is considered. You take a 01-02 6spd LS1 & you can bet your *** my money is on the LS1. The LS1 is going to trap higher & with a set of M/T & lower Control Arms & good Clutch it will hook some Mid 1.80 60ft& put a Catback & Lid & Y-Pipe on it & Your Mach 1 is done.

Look guys, its not a matter of " I have an LS1 and I am better"! It is based on facts I have come to thru my 6+years of racing. The cars are quick, but they wont win a LS1 unless the driver is a total tard. I dont see why that is so hard to accept? This is simply resolved...find some guys here with stock LS1's and have them race the Mach guys that apparently arnt loved enough on their home boards and have to hang out on a GM site. Easy button, engaged...
PS: _ZAC: I DO know who Im talking to. Another guy with another Mach 1. Thanks for the intimidation factor, though! Till someone tells me he(or you) are the president or a ranking government official, I dont give a ****.

I've seen a Mach1 beat up on a few strong runnin cars before, think his mods were, cat-back, CAI, pullys and something else small, and he put a hurting on a Cam only 6spd LS1 from a roll and dig, as well as a 05 GT with bolt ons and 150shot,(the N20 wasn't used on the 05) they are strong runnin cars and in stock from Mach1 Vs LS1 comes down to the R/T and the shifting skill of the drivers

Just so you know we can race my "mach" against some LS1's! You want to be the first one?

Hey guys im not getting alot of stock mach1s posting, where should i post this to get more mustangs? Maybe a good stang forum? So far I have 3 stock machs and about 100 stock ls1 cars. If we want to settle this dispute we need equal representation from both sides.

[QUOTE=_Zac]See, that's what I'm laughing about. You guys think it takes mods to cut a 1.8 60'. Stock Machs with good drivers cut that all the time. Gearing, weight, and suspension are on the mach's side. The LS1 may trap 1-2mph more, but that isn't helping it hook now is it? 1-2 mph is nothing if you are getting walked on in the 1/8th mile. Drivers race all the way.
i have ran many times against a mach, have always trapped 4-5mph faster. sometimes it was enough to get around sometimes not. pretty much a drivers race. but for some reason when i got a built rear/4.11's/slicks like his, he didn't want to play anymore??

[QUOTE=BLAKE 01 WS6] Well yeah, Then it's no longer stock for stock..
The point is that stock for stock they both have strengths, LS1's have a few mph/mustangs get out in the 1/8th, and in the end they are a drivers race.
A good race for your car with those mods would be a light bolt-on mach. That way you both can launch hard and trap near the same.

what ever...
Is there still any "stock" f-bodies around anymore? Another question I have is when has gear swap and suspension work been considered as a "bolt on"? I alway thought of bolt ons as exhaust, cai, shifter, something done fairly easy and on the cheap side. So I don't think that a mach one with 4.30 gears and slicks is "stock". But that is just my opinion
And F-BODIES RULE!!!!

Well guys, I know that a stock Mach 1 isn't going to be faster then a stock Cobra, but there is a video on www.streetfire.net with a cam only LS1 Camaro and a S/C Cobra racing, and the LS1 kills it. My friend actually has an '03 Mach 1 with just flowmaster mufflers that we were racing in last night, and that 4th gear pulls good. They redline at like 6800 rpm because of the dual overhead cams too. Here is that video of that LS1 Camaro killing that Cobra. Let me know what ya'll think!

Stock Cobra's > Stock LS1's.
Stock LS1's = Mach1's
C5Z06 > Stock Cobra's
Vert Cobra's > Everything.
