The point is that stock for stock they both have strengths, LS1's have a few mph/mustangs get out in the 1/8th, and in the end they are a drivers race.
A good race for your car with those mods would be a light bolt-on mach. That way you both can launch hard and trap near the same.

Considering this is about stock cars it's irrelevant what you and your friends run. But yes it seems like he's down on mph, and you have a lot for the mods you've posted. Not by much in either direction, but that's still a close race. Two tenths can be had at the tree.

The tree had nothing to do with that race.... the f-body had worse 60ft by .20 of a second and still went faster in ET and mph. So maybe the mach's might have a chance in the 1/8th but in a full 1/4 pass the f-body comes out on top.

Of course then you could go to the 5.0 Mustang article where the Mach BARELY pulled the Bullitt and draw conclusion from that.
Mach drivers -Keep telling yourselves how that 270RWHP Mach is a drivers race against a 300+RWHP Camaro. Or better yet, just do what you do best and edge out Mustang GTs and WRXs all day long.

.2 at the tree would have made them dead even in the 1/4.

13.8's? bwahahaha I ran that in my stock 01 GT (Mid July in fact). My buddy Curtis ran a 13.2 in his girls stock Bullitt. Magazines numbers are like the tooth fairy, when you're young it's ok to believe in that ****, but once you get older it's time to grow up and embrace reality.

Are you talking about reaction time or 60 ft time? b/c reation time has no effect on ET, but if you talking about 60ft time then you say if the mach would have pulled a 1.5 60ft then they would have been even in the 1/4. I hope a car the that run 1.5 60ft would be a whole lot faster than a mid 12.
I call total bullshit on that bone stock bullitt running 13.2 it has 5 more hp than a gt!!!

if he treed me by .2 then we would cross the stripe at the same time, but i would still have a lower e.t. that is the reason that it was pretty much a drivers race(you can still win a race with a slower e.t.), the DRIVER could have won that particular race, but his CAR is still slower

I'm not arguing with you guys here, I never said one was faster than the other. Just said it's a drivers race and it is. If you think otherwise that's your opinion however misguided.

whatever....
What are you talking about? The disagreement here is that stock the cars are the same. How is a Mach w/ 260rwhp = a ls1 w/300+rwhp? It just does not add up. when my car was stock in ran high 12's with A4, I have never seen a stock mach run under 13.20's stock. So how is that a driver's race?
