Opti's are time consuming and a pain in the a$$ but not that difficult to change. For as much money as they are asking, you could do it yourself with really good parts.

Check another post here for reviews on the accel ignition parts.

The ET valve is the one that you turn whenever you want lower ET's at the track.
They seriously want that much to replace those chincy things on ur car? U just need to buy some Long tubes, new opti, plugs, wires, fuel filter, and egr delete plates. Then get like 4 guys who know how to work on that car to come over one afternoon and knock the whole damn thing out. Oh you'll need some coolant too.
And if you think a Honda will be any better to deal with ur wrong. Just as much knuckle busting.

Default No honda

unless you think you can deal with driving a car that has the same feel of a goped, thats a fun to drive as a powerwheels. forget the HONDA lol
Great milage though..I had a Camery for two weeks I sold it too my brother for 200 just cause I hated it and he needed a ride. It only needed a tank every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks though.

Get your Honda to Pepboys and you'll get a bill for just as much money. Probably more, because Honda parts are a hell of a lot more expensive than GM parts. The hell with that.

Not to mention higher milage Japanese cars are money pits, one thing breaks, no matter how small, and it costs double the value of the car to fix. No thanks.

Just fix it yourself. Buying another car and registering it and insuring it then gas for the thing. bam your ta would be fixed for that much.

Any shop is going to do two things: Rape you on prices, and charge you for things that don't need to be done.

Cap and rotor, sure, you have 200K miles on it. Twice? I don't see the logic in that? Same with the wires, why twice? I'd take it to a local garage, not a chain. Tell them what you'd like done. You can do the fuel filter yourself, but having the plugs, wires, cap and rotor done is something I'd have done (if I was in your shoes, since you're no mechanic). Only Pepboys knows wtf a ET Valve is. Exhaust Temp? Maybe they meant EGR, who knows. Most of us unplug it anyhow.

shbox.com and follow the link about "where to buy your GM parts". Their names are Dal or Jason, its 2 different shops but they will give you the best prices. Just buy the whole opti since you have so many miles instead of just the cap and rotor.

I don't know if you spend time in the LT1 section, but "That_guy" is our resident 'goof' He originally thought his Injectors were his Spark Plugs. Sorry, Guy, but it had to be repeated LOL

I found this to be true on their wire sets. I've only used their coil, cap & rotor kit once (on my '96 Yukon). They seemed to do fine for me, but again; I've seen the wore sets come back to me at the parts counter too many times for me to trust them. Borg Warner (although not listed - available at O'Reilly's) on the other hand is one of the few manufacturers that I just know that when they leave the parts counter, I'm not going to see them again for warranty, but the customer has to pay a little extra for it.

Good stuff: (Summit)
MSD ignition coil PN: 8226 = $45.00
Accel cap & rotor kit PN: 8136 = $100.00
AC Delco fuel filter PN: GF578 = $15.00
MSD plug wires PN: 32149 = $95.00

Cheap stuff: (O'Reilly's)
MasterPro ignition coil PN: E46 = $15.00
MasterPro cap & rotor kit PN: C400 = $137.00
Microguard fuel filter PN: 33311 = $7.00
OmniSpark plug wires PN: 9447 = $27.00
