His roommate works for LG and yet him AND his roommates get screwed by LG? Something not right here. Good thing he calls LG a bunch of dumbasses. Another good thing he is taking his car back up there

If you are going to bad mouth a company, dont expect them to work with you much.

Obviously the conclusion was...it was not covered under warranty.
Hence why he was charged $500+ in parts with free labor.
Not free labor and parts.

Kinda depends, I know that I hit cost times 1.67 to get 40% profit. I can't explain how it works but I would say your making somewhere around 70% on said item.

They wanna know why you bought from GM instead of getting a better part at a lessor price.

That is LS1Tech for ya!

Some of you folks need to before replying.

He should of taken it back to LG the minute he thought there was a problem with the build.... that is rule #1 when working with "local" performance shops. Kinda common sense!

We charged him cost, and no labor, thats 515.75$ for something that we generously repaired. We dont know the reason for failure, but it looked like it was put in first gear going down the highway, however, not letting the clutch out. It was severely trashed. If this was our fault, it would have occured from the get go.Louis
You did not know the reason for the failure so you became "skeptical" and dug around on the internet to try and find a video of him "beating" on his car so you would have a reason to charge him $500.

But you used GM parts in the "Race Ready" transmission you built him?

But do you know how that tranny will hold up with GM parts?

Everyone makes mistakes and at times more than one, quite a few major mistakes happened on my car during this one build. Any shop with little to no experience should have avoided them or at least stood behind there work.

I spent near $20,000 with LG only to have a car that was a pain in the *** to drive and have it puke anti freeze on my floor every time I drove it.

I said my .02

I totally understand, LG is not innocent of making accusations towards their customers. I purchased a cam from them, the next day I decided not to install since my wife told me she was pregnant, so I called to return it. If they had stated their policy was no return, I would have understood, however, they told me to bring it in and they would refund me by my original payment method. So, the following day I took the cam to Bobby for the return and right off the bat he was making accusations towards me such as regrinding it; which obvioulsly was completely untrue. He then told me it would take at least a week to get the check, which was fine. After one week I called and they indicated with an "oops" that my check was never mailed, but it would be taken care of. A week later I placed another call to which they stated "a check was in the mail". Well, it has been nearly 4 weeks and still no check. So I totally understand your point of having to deal with LG.

I did read that post and that was my response simply because of the way i interpretted your post bro. Sorry for the name calling. I just wanted to find out what happened

Lou is a very business saavy guy, and thats why he does what he does. I understand this because i have had a couple small but successful business' in the past and realize business is business. Run one however you like, but if you are not out to do superior quality and workmanship, and always help the customer, you will most likely fail.

Quick question..... Was the trans built to race? If so why is it not holding up. If not then why is op under the impression that it is and why charge more for extra parts in the original build. The bs lines your people gave him over the phone suck. Run down exactly how the front seal would start leaking from a bad/wrong install. You seem pretty shady to me but maybe I've got a bad impression.

Would you respect them if you were in my shoes?

If you spent the amount I did only to have to pull the engine to fix a coolant leak due to them installing the heads completely against my instructions. If the rear plug wasnt installed right and the $1800 clutch that you bought from them and had them install got oiled down and they wouldnt stand behind it? If you spent the amount I did to correct these problems and more?

Im glad your experience was better than mine as was others. My car was left with them based on there reputation and the end result was a mess.

I will end my rant with this post.
