Why did you pick that intake over a fast?

i choose this intake over the fast becuase i am fixin to spray this motor. with the traditional LS intake all the air is coming in the front of the intake and starves the back 2 cylendors. with this intake it dumps the air on top of all eight cylendors. also i do plan on building a pro charged motor next year so i get the best of both worlds now and then. plus i like the way this is starting to look and not everyone is doing it, so i am a little different than everyone else

why not just buy a premade elbow that you know performs and doesn't hurt the incoming air?

because the only ones that i have found were $275 and up and they were bulcky and had very tight turns. this only cost me $20 so far and is pretty straight foward. one simple bend down into the motor.

$275 and up you've been looking in the wrong places...hell, check ebay even...but there are a lot of others. Just saying, it may not flow as much air as you're thinking it will. may end up being a restriction in the future.

doing that on a N/A setup, will it gain more power than a LS6 intake?

not sure on the radius of the elbow. i do know that it is a lot smoother thana turbo elbow. that is why i choose to build my own elbow. there will be a straight shot from the lid to the TB and when you open the plate of the TB you can see a little of the inside of the intake. i dont understand how someone could say that this will not flow. one simple bend straight to the intake. i will post pics of the intake tomorrow after paint and mounting. just painting untill i have powder coated.

if any one was wondering this is how the install looked when i was finished. i finally cut the hood last night and drove it most of the morning and have had no problems yet. this set up pulls like crazy on the top end. can't wait till the nitrous is set up.
