Not too sound like a noob here, but I don't get it.

Your asking 19 thousand wing ***** for a stripped out car that has no engine or transmission?

+ Primer on the fender?

as a guess, I would GUESS easily $10K+ just in welding/materials for the cage, so, don't sound too bad.

EXACTLY...but when you put $10k into it...you don't get $10k out of it plain and simple. If he spent $10k on the cage alone...he WAY over spent as I have had 2 7.50 cages built and they were almost half that!

Ok, I'm done, I've said my piece and will move onto something that is priced REASONABLY!

Give Bill Buck or any chassis builder a call, ask them how much it would be duplicate that car as it sits, with the current chassis work, the current parts on it and NHRA certified.

To certify a cage to 25.5 costs a lot of money. Then don't forget it has a mega dollar 9" rear, expensive wheels, good brakes, and costly front suspension. While this is a tough market to sell a roller, the asking price is not out of line.

Race cars are expensive. This is a nice car for the price. I want someone to buy it so we can see it run. To duplicate this car it would cost around $30,000. This would make a badass limited street car for Orsca.

it looks quite simple, but when you start adding and adding parts/labor it gets really expensive.

You could pay $30k and wait a year for it to be built or drop $19k and have a complete and legal roller tomorrow.

absolutely right! I can tell you 30k would be a very conservative estimate too! Smoking deal!

You guys saying that is way too expensive, call a reputable chassis shop and tell them you've got a roller and you want a 25.5 cage with complete front/rear suspension and wheels/tires and wait till you hear what they tell you for a price.

The car is also fairly desirable being a hard top Firebird with a 98+ front clip already on it. Will make some one a really nice race car.

Are you sure? Because from what I have been told, building some thing like that is really easy and doesn't involve any hassle what so ever.

sorry but this car is well worth the price, this is for someone who SERIOUSLY wants to go fast, this is top quality stuff here and if I owned an LSx race team or something of that nature, this would be a car to buy. really this isnt for your daily driving pleasure. good luck with the sale. try craigslist.

It's not for your daily driving pleasure?

It doesn't even have a front windshield.

I'm sorry guys. Maybe I'm just too simple and feeble minded, but I can't wrap my mind around that.

Sure the car may be a "smoking deal" for the handiwork, but who's the intended customer? Do you really expect some guy to come running in out of left field and say, "OMG, thank god you have this 25.5 spec car for 19 thousand. Otherwise I would never have been able to get my 7.50 NHRA race team off the ground."

I mean, at least put a running drive train in the car and offer that and recoup your costs that way. Because from the outside looking in, all I see is a stripped out car with no windshield.

Moser 9 inch? Weld Wheels? Full suspension? Thats great, but it's the equivalent of a 5 story house with granite and marble and gold shower heads, just with no indoor plumbing or wiring. Buyer has to install that "themselves".

Now if you start parting the car out, let me know.
