How does your car smell running without CATS? Is it a very strong smell that will stick to your clothes after you get out of the vehicle? Do you regret not running CATS? I am thinking of putting a set of headers on my car and deleting the CATS but I don't want it to smell bad.

It does sound really good though, and i have headers and tds dumped before the axle.
i think it was a mistake to get rid of my cats, not to mention inspection is harder to get, since the inspectors can smell it.. its a very obvious smell and they know whats up, you can pass, but you will PAY for it.

Mine doesn't smell but I'm running a catback. When I first installed the headers and Y pipe I could smell the exhaust a tiny bit but no one could smell it on me. After a few days the smell went away and now it doesn't smell at all.

No cats with a healthy-sized cam here. I smell like gas if I get out and stand behind the car when it's idling. It's not as noticeable on my clothes unless I sit in traffic for long periods of time. I run the exhaust all the way out or through the cutout in my I-pipe.
You can clean up the smell at idle a bit by playing with the tune. By the time you can smell the exhaust (the hydrocarbons, or the "gas" smell), you are overfueling. It's kind of unavoidable with a cam with a lot of overlap.
I will still put cats on at some point. It's not worth all of the hassle.

I ran a hollowed out cat for three years and always with the windows down. The car did run rich enough to cause nausea sometimes though depending on how it was during the days. Mostly it was tolerable. It ran better without the cat honestly then with it.
