its my understanding that the police wont do anything unless the person says they want to press charges, its the same with assault, stealing, property damage etc.

Well just like I caught a guy trying to steal into LS1tech member StangMan's avalanche. We had the plate number, the car model, and I actually KNEW who the thief was.
Cops did nothing. Apparently there had been other break ins in the area that night anyways.
MOST cops are complete ****, but they realize the $$$$ is not in picking up **** heads, but writing tickets.

A good family friends house was broken in to the other day, cops took over an hour to get there. But if I go 5mph over o westpark or Harwin on my way to work, theres 3 cops standing there running radar, and atleast two at wilcrest checking for stickers.

in 01 my 01 750 GSXR was stolen from my apt complex(yea dumb idea) but a week later I had a friend spot my bike in some dudes garage, called the officer in charge of my case serveral times and he never called back.....week later the house was empty and the guy had moved.....complete bullshit.

You obviously would not have been arrested or faced any legal problems for doing so.

I was pissed last night so post was short.
The lady did get taken to jail. But the police only did it after A LOT of arguing, and complaining by the victims, and the people who witnessed the crime. They demanded to press charges. Even with the police taking her in, they basically emphasized that she would likely be released soon. Seems like they just did their best to try and talk the victims out of pursuing any justice.

The 3 last break-ins or robberies in my neiborhood were committed buy a group of white kids and a black man.

my home defence system: a slugged 12 gauge, a shovel, and neighbours who keep their mouths shut. 
But seriously, that sucks, at least she DID finally get arrested. UP here in Canada they don't do much either, it's like they'll only enforce the last law passed. Being that's a street racing law, guess where all the attention goes.
