Default Finished my economic stimulus carport.

25' wide by 21' long.
Wanted to build a really nice one that looked like part of the house but that woulda been mucho bucks so decided to build a three car wide simple one instead. Looks a little farmish but oh well, what do you expect for 1200 bux. It sags about an inch in the middle of the beams but i wanted it really wide with no posts in the middle. My dad wants me to put another post on each side, to help with the weight. Probably will just cause it was flexin a little with those 40 mph winds couple days ago.
All materials cost exactly what my economic stimulus check was. Still gotta find someone to extend the driveway. Don't wanna do it myself but i might have to. Anyone got a hook up or know a cement guy?

My HOA would kill me if I did something like that.

HOAs can go to hell. You can do whatever you want with your land and your house.

I'm waiting on mine still, I'm building a Hot Tub courtyard and an Arbor, although I think it will cost a little more than my check will be.

They can be ****'s but all in all they serve a purpose, last thing I want is a house on my street painted pink, over grown yard and a roller 83 Camaro Berlinetta sitting in the front yard.

Right up until the HOA puts a lien on your house, which they can do in Texas.

You could easily contest that law's constitutional validity in court.

Why? Would it offend you as you drove by it? Do you only care because it would more than likely decrease the value of the adjacent real estate? What?

Be careful if it rains a lot, that thing might just collapse in the middle.

I dont want to have look at a Berlinetta for one, they look terrible, not only that but it does it keep people from doing things that are in general bad taste. But if I was trying to sell my home and some one had a front yard that looks like they took inspiration from a cops episode i dont want that hindering a sale.

I was just thinking the same thing, only I would worry about sleet or snow.
