Default Is Fbody AC adequate in summer?

Hey guys I will be moving to San Antonio in September, and I'm wondering if you feel the air conditioning is adequate in the summer time in an LT1 or LS1 car? How long does it typically take to cool down to at least the low 70's in your car? I've noticed in my car, when it's in the 90's, the air seems like it can't keep up when I'm on the highway for more than an hour or so.

Thanks,
James

My AC has done well, except when my compressor went out. I have T tops also. I made some T top shades and that helped a lot. It doesn't take long to cool down and seems to get cooler when they are in.

I have actually had to turn mine down on the highway on a 95 degree day because I got cold. It really works great and will have the car cooled off in a few minutes.

F-body has a HUGE dash and if the car is left to bake in the sun all day then it's going to take a little while to cool the dash down before the vents start throwing ice at you......food for thought....

Definitely stores plenty of heat when sitting in the sun. Once you get in, lower the windows and blast the max A/C for a minute or so while you drive. Once all that stored heat gets released it'll turn into an icebox and you'll put the A/C on low and it'll keep you cold. Mine sits in 100* heat most of the day while I'm at work...leather gets HOT!!!

My A/C will freeze you out on a long trip even on 100+ degree days. Gotta love a car that you can take on a trip with A/C, get 20+mpg and then hop on the track and run a 11 second 1/4

my 30th had real cold a/c once i fixed it. if its properly maintained, it should be just as good as newer model vehicles.

Yeah, mine's all right. It's doesn't get terribly cold in 90+ degree weather.

mine was so cold that I would get out of the car and my shades would fog up. To keep it cool while sitting use ttop shades and buy one of those reflective shades to cover up the dash
