From Weather Underground

The latest 00Z/06Z (8pm/2am EDT)) computer models have begun to zero in on Corpus Christi to Freeport as the most likely landfall location. However, with a trough of low pressure expected to turn Ike close to landfall time, a slight variation in timing of this trough could put Ike ashore farther north, near Galveston. There is also a chance the ridge pushing Ike west Thursday could be stronger than expected, forcing Ike more to the west towards a Brownsville landfall. However, I believe that this is lower probability, and that Galveston is more likely to get hit than Brownsville.

In short at this point, don't get complacent.

Dolly tore the roof off my mom's house in Harlingen. Surely I can't be that unlucky twice in one year. Okay, yea I said it.

Yea this isnt getting cool at all. My mom lives in Port Aransas and when Dolly came in she had water almost to her house. This one looks like its gonna be a direct hit. Im pretty worried about it.

No. Unless you live in a flood-prone area.

Anybody surf in here....nows your chance. Come...well...about 2am Saturday morning you could probably catch some curls on the surf. Just imagine the seashells that will blow up with htis storm. Great time to hit the beaches afterwards...never know what you might find.

Get ready for gas to go up if all of Texas City shuts down. Most of BP is as of now, if not all tomorrow.
