Exclamation Driveway cleanup material

I like using cat litter just fine for cleaning up ATF / gear oil / etc. on concrete. But it works so much better when ground to a fine powder. What is the best way to grind it up? Just an old blender? A corn mill? Is there something that's harbor-freight-able or able to be done in the kitchen when the wife is away?

Get some masonry and concrete etcher by Behr from Home Depot. Use it full strength if you have to. That **** will strip off any foreign material from your driveway.

I've had decent results just brushing in some plain
laundry soap, let it sit for a while and hose it out.

99.999999999% sure you can buy the material you speak of ready made.

It's in your kitty litter and it's what Nascar uses ground up. I know you can get it somewhere but I can't remember where. And it's fairly cheap.

EDIT: found the ground up type for pools. Sure you can find it elsewhere or at a speed shop or something cheaper.

34 bucks for 50lbs

You might be talking about Damp Rid? Also sold at your local hardware store.

Do a google search for "Speedy Dry", and you should find what you're looking for. It leaves a dusty mess but is good for big spills. It should be disposed of as hazardous waste, just like old oil.

Go with the cat litter method and if you have one power wash it up after the litter obsorbs the moisture.

Burnout marks cover well!
I use a fine oil dry, that is reuseable, until totally saturated.
The racetrack stuff is likely finely ground rice hulls.
Kitty litter will not totally absorb the oil, and leaves a residue, that still has to be mopped up.
In extreme cases, use the entire cat!

that is true.. but just one cup of gas will clean a big spot... dont have to use much at all...

usually if we have some sitting around and spill say 1/2 quart if oil... we will use a tad bit of gas to get it up... garage floor is spotless needless to say..
