Default What Is A Good Quality Jack and Jack Stands?

I am in dier need of a good jack and jack stand set. For the jack i would like the contact point to be big, not small like the cheap AutoZone ones..

so what do you all recommend?

Thanks

I jsut do not like how small the contact point is. I wish the diameter was wider....

I am interested to see what people say.. I have a couple different craftsman's.. they all sucked within a yr of owning them. All the good jacks i find, seem to be 300-600 dollars. Seems like alot for a little jack.

this Arcan one is supposed to be good from northern tools. Its 149, and very tempting, but weight says 109 pounds...

I have this one, http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...5429_200345429

And It is great, I really do love it, effortlessly lifts our SS's... And Used it on my 2500hd once, lifted it great. Had it about a year I suppose, no trouble yet. And My car has been ion the stands a good bit lately.

I was going to get this one http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...9613_200329613 but I didnt think it was strong enough to lift my truck..

Yeah I have it, it's heavy, but the side rails are 3/8" thick, and rolled, very sturdy....
