valve spring compressor w/ head off??
valve spring compressor w/ head off?? I have the craftsman spring compressor and I used it before on other heads but these heads are kicking my ***. I have a set of 918 springs that the compressor will not compress enough to get the retainers in.
I need to buy another one but I want one that works. Anyone know of a good one that compresses it enough?

Search here for "Tims tool" I bought one from him and have done 3 sets of heads with it and can prob do more. Swapped out my stock springs for some 918 also, so I know it will work, and the price is not bad also, and for a worthy cause.

Those will do 2 at a time and will work for any single or dual spring. They work on or off the engine.

That one works VERY well and will power through anything.
The key is to hit every retainer with a socket first to break the bond that the retainer and the lock have against each other and you will have an easier time.
